The remix is out in NZ and god it's a bit of a slog - i'm not sure what the point is considering it's now 4:36 which isn't radio friendly at all..

I imagine it wasn't made for radios, most remixes aren't, but it's going to get the song some extra sales and the names involved might make it more of a talking point than random DJ #75 remixing it.

isn't that remixes are for? especially for a commercially struggling artist like Anne-Marie? it was intended to reach more audiences? i'm hoping it's just a "fan" remix and that the original will continue to be pushed

it seems clear to me that this was just something she threw out for the fans to get some extra sales... the song's doing fine, wouldnt make sense for her to try and push a new version to the radio

"Commercially struggling" is a strange way to describe someone who's just had a #2 album (her second top 3 album, which has so far spent three weeks top 10 + one more at #11), an album that includes at #2 hit + two more top 20s and another top 40.

 

I think it was always obvious that the original was going to remain the main version being pushed, it's not a situation like Confetti / Power / etc where the remix is the intended single version from the get-go. This is a side remix like the Billen Ted version and the acoustic version, that's all there is to it. Most will stick to the original but it might give the song a little boost and some extra media attention.

The remix is purely there to help it go top 10, they really wanted Our Song to do it too.

 

I wouldn’t say Anne Marie is struggling at all either she’s had really decent sales for her album (It’s great too).

 

Harder than ever to actually get a big hit, said it many times before but it’s hard work for artists these days even big acts have struggled.

Yeah I think they made the track list thinking it would be big; I think it was a last minute replacement for Love Me Like You.

I mean it’s top 20 so it’s not a massive flop (coming off 3 top 10s and a #1 though) so I get why they included it, plus it’s their latest pre-announcement I just don’t get why LMLY had to be excluded it’s 1 track 😭

I can kind of understand why they included it as it's a current single that is doing OK, had it been 2 or 3 years down the line I don't think they would have done.

Ok I actually quite like the remix.

 

Not as a stand alone single but it’s a nice addition.

 

It is a hot mess but I like the fact we’ve not really had loads of female artists Jump on a song before.

 

Raye’s part is so good!

This is such a big mess. Becky sounds great on it so I wish it had just been her added to it. Can’t see myself ever listening to this again.
