^^Had a similar experience with Gravity of Love

it's a pity it didn't do anything in the charts

Setting Sun   One of my favourites and some glorious psychedelic production, Tomorrow Never Knows but even more psyched up. It was close to my 30 pointer, though I'm amazed that hasn't come up yet, it clearly had a lot more fans than I thought.

Back for Good is probably my favourite song by a boyband, they don't often come as well written as that.

While I liked Think Twice at the time, I'm kinda baffled at how it has managed to beat so many other songs that have much more personality and impact.

I'm also surprised that the Manics are still to come. I wonder if Some Might Say lost a few votes to Don't Look Back in Anger.

Its so good I thought it was a cover!

Loved 'Setting Sun' as well, such a leftfield number one!

THE SONGS:

F1udny3.jpg

Extremely pleased to see Manics do so well, I wasn't sure how well regarded that was on here. For me personally, it's their best song and I find the lyrics still strikingly profound and relevant to the modern day for a song about the Spanish Civil War.

Good top 20, bar Think Twice (that's really still in?)

Two songs that narrowly missed my votes and one that narrowly made them going out. IYTTYCWBN is a far cry from Motorcycle Emptiness but still an iconic #1 and a cornerstone of the Manics' latter era.

Great top 20. At least Think Twice had a slow build to a long run at #1, and didn't just arrive there off the back of 6 previous #1s plus a #2 that was held off by a Run DMC remix...

There are 9 songs left that I'd definitely say I prefer to If You Tolerate... which I gave 6 points to, so will be a surprise to find out which one I forgot about or decided wasn't as good when I voted.

It's felt like recently that my name has popped up regularly so no surprise I've gone right towards the bottom of points remaining!

Maria

That’s the first of my Top 3 to go out, but it’s still done better than I expected. All of Blondie’s 6 #1s are brilliant but I think that’s norrowly my favourite.

Not so hot on If You Tolerate This but I’ve never been a setting the world to rights kinda guy.

Prodigy’s never entirely been my thing but both their #1s are absolutely classic.

Actually thought Breathe might have been my +30, with the list so small I *think* I know what it is now. Also expected it to be the first Prodigy song to drop but it's worth saying that it is an absolute monster of a hit over in my parts, where The Prodigy never had another top 20 hit, but "Breathe" was the longest running top 10 hit of all time until like 2019!

xal4hCx.png

oh love love love Breathe, such a classic and perfect fusion of indie and dance

why nobody makes music like this anymore?

never liked that Maria song that much, too cheese #sorrynotsorry

did I really not vote for the Manics song? I love that song and I'm surprised I didn't vote for it

cos in the end I had trouble coming up with 30 songs... must have missed it by mistake :/

Good top 20, bar Think Twice (that's really still in?)

Seriously people should have thought twice before voting for it.

OMG at me with only 5 songs left in the top 20. Probably only 2 of them will be top 10. Oh well, whatever. :teresa:
