April 10, 200619 yr Somehow I don't expect Spurs to suffer the same fate as Everton, given that they are a much better team.
April 10, 200619 yr Sure, Spurs could have an ok run in the UEFA Cup but if they got to the CL, they would fall at the group stages. I hope Arsenal get fourth to save us, the british public, from embarrasment :P
April 10, 200619 yr How far can you see Spurs getting in the Champions League, then? Say for example they were drawn with PSG, Inter and Barcelona..
April 10, 200619 yr I'd fancy them against PSG, wouldn't rule them out against Inter but we all know Barca can beat pretty much everyone (including Arsenal- I'm looking forward to the CL final this year). Edited April 10, 200619 yr by ThePennyDrops
April 10, 200619 yr If that was the case, i could only see them taking 4 points from that group (3 from PSG at home, 1 away at PSG). besides, i don't think they will even get 4th. and yes, barcelona are unstoppable. the only team near their quality is AC Milan.
April 10, 200619 yr They don't have to go the same way as Everton did . They could do what this years other unkowns did..Manage to get 4th in the Spanish league when absolutely no one would've expected it beating two big guns in Valencia and Deportivo. The next season they fail to do as good in the league and are currently 8th but they've still managed to beat the likes of Man Utd, Benfica and Inter Milan to reach the sem-final of the Champions League...I think they'd do alright. The squad they have is definately capable, there really isn't much difference between Arsenal and Spurs at all.

April 10, 200619 yr Arsenal have a great young side but look at alot of their top CL wins, it is normally a piece of brilliance from henry that gives them the win not a team overpowering another team. Spurs have just had record profits reported and we have a very strong fan base. If we can do well in the summer transfer market who's to say we cant buy 1-2 world class players. It will be close between Arsenal and Spurs considering we have to meet near the end of the season although if we were to play CL football next season we would definately buy one or two top players. We have the 13th best revenue out of all European teams but we are the only team that doesnt accredit some of its revenue from CL football. With our financial position + CL football we would have alot of money to spend on players while if Arsenal dont get CL football you would have a big chance of losing Henry. Then it would be you falling at the group stages ;)
April 11, 200619 yr I'm voting with my heart so it has to be Spurs. Although it is going to be nail-biting times ahead.
April 13, 200619 yr Thank you Portsmouth that point could be very handy to Spurs But not so handy for West Brom
April 13, 200619 yr Yeah........Spurs are probably gonna nick it although for some reason I don;t even think they'll get into the group stages purely because only a couple of players have champions league experience.......and they'll suffere because of that.
April 13, 200619 yr I support arsenal, so i cant say spurs will beat us. but all i will say is Arsenal have left it late!
April 14, 200619 yr Sorry Penny about West Brom but its every man for himself when it comes to football. Still hope they manage to stay up.
April 14, 200619 yr I don't think they've got a chance now. Portsmouth can easily win their next three games now. West Brom will only stay up if they can overtake Villa which now looks incredibly doubtful...
April 14, 200619 yr Portsmuth should easily do it now. I'd say their certainly in the top 5 most on-form teams in the Premiership at the minute and if they can get points from both Blackburn and Arsenal then they have no place being in the bottom 3 let alone the Championship next season.
