September 22nd marks 10 years since 'We Found Love' was released into the world and became a surefire stomper for both Calvin and Rihanna at the time, with a strong legacy behind it since.

 

The track encaptured the euphoric production we had come to love from Calvin, with Rihanna's fantastic vocal laid over the top. The video also featured a spoken insert at the start about love and heartbreak from model Agyness Deyn and was filmed in Ireland to a lot of press behind it for the romance and drug themes depicted.

 

We Found Love went on to be an international success reaching the top spot in 26 territories around the world. It is currently 3x Platinum in the UK and 9x Platinum in the US! It featured on both artist's albums '18 Months' and 'Talk That Talk'.

 

I wanted to post this earlier because it did so well for us in the 3rd AF Idol winning the 5th round. It remains to this day one of my favourite songs of all time.

I absolutely insanely ADORE this ever since I first heard it. I saw Rihanna perform this live at her residency at The O2 that same year on her LOUD tour, and Calvin Harris played it whilst supporting her at the same tour. This track is euphoric and is an absolute eargasm. One of my favourite songs of all time.

Easily her best song and one of the best ever. Can’t believe Leona lost out on it, what a fool!

Ugh have so much love and memories attached to this. Met my ex fiancé on a New Years Eve night out, making out to this on the countdown :wub:

It took me a couple of years for this to click after hearing it on a night out when I was mashed out of my box, but it really is an essential for me now. Like anything from 2011, I can't believe it's 10 years.

 

I also vividly remember the midweek release when we all thought 'Moves Like Jagger' was finally gonna get its chance. :lol:

Takes me back to messy uni nights out and my GOD do I miss those days. I get so nostalgic whenever I hear it. Truly one of my favourite dance records of all time.

We found love took a while to click with me but when it did i loved it, for me its Rihannas best track and also one of Calvin's very best.
