Liam Gallagher lashes out at music fans

Liam Gallagher believes that people who like various styles of music are "ignorant".

 

The Oasis frontman revealed his forthright views to The Sun, saying: "A lot of people like lots of music. I don’t. I think that’s ignorant. It’s like having loads of girlfriends. I don’t like lots of styles of music, I just like rock ’n’ roll."

 

Gallagher also spoke of his fondness for taking the glory in the band despite his brother's hard work: "I’m the geezer with the champagne getting Man Of The Match. I think we all know that. I’m the one who scores in the last minute. Noel’s the defender who drives it and that. You do the work and I’ll just have a laugh and look good."

at least we're not all as mundane and narrow-minded as this goon, just go away, and take your unhelpful criticism elsewhere.

 

If people do no tchose to say they like 'rock' and 'Rock' only then good for them, music is about enjoyment and if 'rock' fans chose to listen to dance, pop, indie etc than thats thier own business, god how much i hate oasis, but i know they have a solid fanbase so hey, doesnt matter

I don't honestly think the poor guy knows the meaning of the word ignorant - what he's describing - liking just one genre of music - THAT's ignorance.

I dont think I can really add mcuh to anything that's already been said, suffice to say that Liam Gallagher has just proven EVERYTHING I ever thought or said about Oasis and their music, now I actually know the reason for their utter blandness and plodding sameyness - they're just listening the same old two or three records and not looking at more broad musical influences which would actually enrich their music...

What he's just said here has just made me question the whole reason for his past involvement in projects with the likes of Chemical Brothers and Goldie (mind you, I was always suspicious about his motives for doing it in the first place..)... So what was the reason you did it then Noel....? <_< Obviously not for the interest in their respective styles of music....
