Britain's best vocalist is set to release her fifth studio album in March 2007. Most of it was recorded over just one weekend in Nashville in early November; its going to be a throwback to classic soul of the late 60's - think Aretha Franklin and Al Green.

She previewed two songs on tour - After You (strong Al Green feel to it) and Sweet Black Butta - which is more Tina Turner than anything Tina has done in 20 years imo! Strong rock/soul combination...

There is a new serious of Just The Two Of Us - a TV competition where celebrities are teamed up with real singers and they compete, Pop Idol-style. Bev featured in Series 1 and helped expose her to a wider auidence...so it should do the same again!

She is also looking to record a third series of Beverley's Gospel Knights for BBC Radio 1 - the first and second series comprised of 6 one hour long documentary's on the history and influence of soul music and featured interviews with lots of people from Destiny's Child to Shirley Caesar.

The lead single of the album should be released in late Feb - and the new album will be followed by yet another national tour!

And finally, Bev was a guest on An Auidence with Lionel Ritchie over the weekend, and they covered his classic duet Endless Love (original sang with Diana Ross):

This is great news. Affirmation was certainly her strongest album imo :D :D

I went to a gig she did in Liverpool a couple of weeks ago and she was amazing! :D

Can't wait for the new album :D :D

Sweet Black Butter is A-MAZE-ING! Its got a CAYA feel too it - but its even catchier!
Lost interest in Bev many many years ago when she opted to MoR boredom! 'Podigal Sister' will remain her greatest album in her career - still a stunning album!
I'm SURE this next album won't be MoR. But tbh, her other albums havent either. They're pure classics.
:cheer: cant wait for this hopefully this album will get her to where she deserves to be

I wish her luck she deserves it,

amazing singer.

Yup, as said a few posts above, 'Sweet Black Butter' is the new 'Come As You Are' - but much catchier!
One of the new songs is is a cover of Simply Red's 'Ain't that a lot of love'
