Arctic Monkeys have angered a charity by objecting when a promotional video featuring the band was used on a television programme.

The band, who are against advertising, re-recorded their song 'Dancing Shoes' for the Artists' Project Earth (APE) charity and filmed a new video.

However, they objected when they saw the video on GMTV.

"The Monkeys were initially very excited about the project as it's for such a good cause," said a source.

"The charity sent them a copy of the video for approval and presumed everything was OK but once it was shown briefly on GMTV, all hell broke loose because the Monkeys' people consider it 'advertising'.

"The song can't be played on the music channels because now there's no video to go with it so sales are seriously hit. The other much bigger acts such as Coldplay and U2 have been true professionals - unlike the Monkeys."

Thanks for this Kelly. :D

I have heard a very short clip of the remix of Dancing Shoes and it is actually pretty good. :o

I know they're against advertising an all that, but its for a very good cause. Its not like the money was going to be wasted on anything as it would have done good for people, so I think this is all a bit childish in all honesty. :(

I think this may very well confirm that fame has gone right to their heads :(

Well it's nothing to do with 'fame' considering they always said this is what they would do before they were famous.

..did they?!

Either way it's a bit childish, and surprised me when I read it, tbh... I didn't have them down for the tantrum-throwing types

Nah I don't belive that. I think they've grown up a lot over the past year or so but I still think that this all comes down to what they originally said about advertising. -_- Still this is for a very good cause, but I mean the article mentions the monkeys people and not the actual band itself...
