Following on from their last album 'We Are Not Your Kind' in 2019, Slipknot are back tomorrow with new tune 'The Chapeltown Rag'! Their last lead single 'Unsainted' reached #68 in the UK that year, so it will be cool if they can make the top 100 again. (IIRC they do quite well on the YouTube views)

Not the best I've heard but it sounds like Slipknot, alright. The chorus sounds pretty nice but... that single artwork is ugly as sin.

New album 'The End, So Far' has been announced for September 30th! The title is rumoured to relate to it being their final release on Roadrunner Records. 'The Dying Song (Time to Sing)' is out today and it's alright, but doesn't seem like anything special really. The fans seem to be loving it though.

Slipknot still being Slipknot I see.

It's good enough but I do feel that they (and a few other bands like Rammstein, Ghost) could do with experimenting a bit more as they're becoming like the new Motorhead, AC/DC or Iron Maiden you always know exactly what you're going to get long before the track starts.

Do you think so? I guess they sound a bit more '80s rather than'70s now but I'd say that's more of a production change than musical

I'd still like to see all three headline Download next year though

Same, though Download seem to be scared to bump up any new headliners in Ghost’s case.

It really does make me wonder what that festival will be like in say 15 years time when a lot of their current headline crop will likely be retired. Though I’ve heard from a friend who’s involved that Bring Me The Horizon will be headlining next year so that’s looking positive.

Absolutely, the lack of new blood for headliners there has been shocking and it's pretty desperate that a band like Biffy Clyro are the festivals big new headliner.

BMTH should have had it a a good few years back now. They needed to start looking further forward at least 10 years ago and aimed for acts like Avenged Sevenfold, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Korn, Rammstein, Metallica, Green Day, Queens of the Stone Age and Bullet For My Valentine to settle in to the legacy act rotation slot. And that they never gave Slayer a main stage headline slot for their final ever tour was just insulting.

Surprise! 'Yen' is out today. I'm much preferring the sound of this, though it is a little Stone Sour, that's absolutely not a bad thing.

Sounds okay at first play. Reminds me of 'Vol. 3:' in terms of not being super energetic or catchy. Well, the production in this album sounds better than 'Vol. 3:' at least. My first impression on their last album 'We Are Not Your Kind' was better.

'Yen' was the best track. A brilliantly composed song.
