I think, as long as it’s done properly and spin-offs etc have a clear purpose, the Marvel approach is absolutely the right way to go but I also dislike that it’s seen as though it’s trying to emulate that when that’s what that first RTD era was doing anyway. It wasn’t the first TV show to have spin-offs but you had the crossover of characters and the shows essentially combined in The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End. Avengers WHO?

 

I’d very be surprised if Hugh is the proper 14th Doctor (which at this stage I’m not even sure if we’re getting :lol:) but maybe some sort of pre-Hartnell Doctor with a spin-off or like an episode in a What If? series. I mean he has already played an alternate Doctor in The Curse of the Fatal Death :lol:

Hugh Grant will be an interesting Doctor Who... I'd still prefer Paris Jackson or River Song. Or a River Song spin-off...

Bad Wolf's job descriptions state that they're filming a 'returning drama' in Cardiff, beginning on April 25th running until the end of July.

 

I reckon it's likely that we'll get a 14th Doctor announcement at the end of the Sea Devils episode!

Why is it unlikely? If they're filming, they'll want to get the word out of the next Doctor before then otherwise it'll just leak online and they have never allowed that to happen before.

They will reveal it next year. Those recordings are for the WPECIALS. David Tenant and Doctor Donor featuring Matt Smith are taking over for those six episodes.
