September 23, 20222 yr Quality strike, Walker gave him plenty of room. Looks like relegation for England...
September 23, 20222 yr Does feel a bit like this is the beginning of the end for Southgate. We've got flops written all over us at this stage for the World Cup, coming in with really poor form and you can tell the players feel it too.
September 26, 20222 yr The problem for England is there's absolutely zero creativity whatsoever in the squad right now. Why Maddison isn't getting a chance is beyond me, far better than most of our other midfields. Rashford & Sancho have to be knocking on the door now given their recent upturns in form. But I'm not bothered whatsoever about these glorified friendlies. The fact Southgate is under pressure is a joke tbh. Judge him on the actual tournaments, not throwaways games no one cares about.
September 26, 20222 yr Yes, Nations League was put in to try to reduce regular friendlies and have more competitive matches in their place. Try telling Croatia, Hungary, Portugal, or Netherlands that these don't matter because they're playing them like they are. At the end of the day, if you're on the field and are a competitive person, you compete. Not really here for falling back on a "the matches don't matter anyway" mentality. Granted, I do think Southgate has earned the ability to have this World Cup performance be his real evaluation, not Nations League.
September 26, 20222 yr The guys who didn’t get a game last time out should have been starting tonight! We know what the likes of Kane bring we should let Abraham & Toney show what they can do.
September 26, 20222 yr That was nice of Maguire to let every other English fan experience what United fans have had to put up with for years
September 26, 20222 yr Like a Muhammed Ali rope-a-dope against Foreman. Southgate's been watching Rumble In The Jungle. It's defo coming home...... After the group stages.
