Also Lay.. is hard to ruin. I found the production of the Steps version a bit cheap tbh. Also, they didn’t do a lot with this one. Not my favorite in this countdown!

Cheap is a good description, i do like it but they really could have made it far better.

7. Mars & Venus

I haven’t heard this song in years! Was this included as a bonus track somewhere?

Definitely! Now it’s very ‘meh’ for me.

Mars and Venus has a very Steps album track sound to it as all their albums generally include a track or 2 like this, its nice but not a song i ever go oh i haven't listened to this in ages

8. Thank Abba For The Music

Poor Lee is all I have to say!! It was a great idea of the Brits to get so many acts together for a song like this - I’m surprised it didn’t do better though. Was the UK anti-Abba in 1999 or something? Mamma Mia etc went on to do very well?

This is officially the last song of the party so thank you for joining this short but sweet one!

Solo ones coming next!!

Yes! This really worked well! Was also a nice hit over here (and in some other places). Everyone seems involved and it’s a lovely tribute imo.

Thank Abba For The Music i loved at the time and i still enjoy it and it wasnt wha tyou usually expect at the Brits so it was good to see, when i first heard it was going to be released i was sure it would go number 1, never expected it not to even go top 3.

That went by quickly!

I did enjoy and thanks for hosting James :cheer:

And happy that you joined FTF :cheer:

What a great read through that was! I’ll still be taking part I just need to find a suitable time. Should be today or tomorrow.
Sorry forgot about this, was busy. I’ll have to have a listen tomorrow maybes

Starting my listen through now. I may need to stop and come back to it.

Chain Reaction:

The cover song I never knew I needed from Steps. Absolutely one of their top level cover versions for me. Loved it from the moment I heard it and the fact that the vocals are more evenly spread (minus Lee) was nice to see for a change. Their last single in Australia before the split. I remember buying it along with Whenever, Wherever by Shakira when I managed to find it in the shops.
