Sam didn’t just have a #1 album, the single was massive too!

He’s absolutely not a Radio 2 artist

He gets played a lot on R2. And if you’re on about SGU, that was on NOW 110. I’d have put "Long Way Off" on NOW 111

R1 and R2 share a lot of artists, so let's not section someone off as being a specific station's artist without actually looking at where they're played overall. Now if you were going to say something like Kylie or Pet Shop Boys were R2 artists then we'd be more inclined to believe you :kink:

So do a lot of Radio 1 artists, but he primarily has a young fanbase. So I wouldn't put him in with the actual Radio 2-aiming artists like Kylie, Sting, Michael Buble etc.

I meant he’s like artists such as Dua Lipa, Anne-Marie, Little Mix etc: R1 artists who get played a lot on R2. Going back to NOW 111, it’s finally pushed up to the #1 spot

As Lewis said there’s artists who can be on both playlists and 6 Music!

What did Digga D last album sell? Or is this his first release?

it was a mixtape and sold 9.8K

The most-streamed record of the week is mixtape Made In The Pyrex by Digga D, 9,860 sales making it shine at No.3 and eclipsing the No.11 peak of his 2019 debut Double Tap Diaries which has accumulated 33,841 sales to date.

Thanks, he’s not a rapper I’m into and symbolises the market being flooded with them since Stormzy success. I do love him, Dave and The guy who did Ladbroke Grove! Seems the best of the bunch!

I despair at Digga D probably coming for a #1 album. Good timing from him though, #1 probably won't even need 10k this week it looks like.

(This release is technically a mixtape as well I believe)

yes all the albums he's released are mixtapes apparently including the new one

so technically he hasn't released his debut album yet

oh surprised Blossoms and Block Party are so low, even below Reef and Miranda Lambert

hoping Blossoms get #1, guess Rammstein will get #2 with good sales as usually heavy metals acts do, same for Thunder

Nice to see Röyksopp so high here for what it's worth, not sure what to expect from this album but hopefully it can at the very least be their first album to chart higher than the previous one! (Their previous peaks have gone 9-13-21-33-38). Would also be great if Let's Eat Grandma can beat the #28 position of their last album.

Just checked and the last Blossoms album opened with nearly 19K:

It debuted atop the UK Albums Chart, becoming the band's second UK number-one album, with 18,945 copies sold in its first week in the UK
