There’s not a lot grabbing me at the moment.

Anything relating to Gemma / Chesney isn’t exciting in the slightest, Abi who I love just seems to be destined for these self destructive type stories where we have to feel sorry for her when she’s at fault, Sarah who’s also grating seems to be dominating as well.

Amy/Jacob can stay though I’m enjoying their scenes but yeah it’s probably at present the weakest of the soaps I watch at the moment but it’s probably down to the characters who I’m not too keen on being the ones dominating scenes at present.

Can't really see the point of Linda's sudden appearance. I don't think he was ever going to leave. Mercifully, it was a relatively brief storyline.

Haven't watched it for ages but just seen the Amy / Jacob seen - that's exactly the kind of humour that the show was missing when I stopped watching.

I really question the point in bringing Zeedan back. The character has been dull as dishwater since his return- it would have made far more since for him to come back when Yasmeen was in prison.

The fact we are going to have to put with Summer, Her Boyfriend, the three dads as the main focus of Corrie for months is depressing
With summer are they aiming for a 3 men and a baby type approach with the 3 Dads, it just doesnt really work and the character of Summer is awful, she is an overload of misery.

Is Billy with Todd now, I missed a lot over the summer.

Trying to catch up but my god the adverts on iPlayer lately go on forever.

The footballer decorator storyline is truly awful.

Coronation Street is going through a very bad period at the moment and a new producer coming on board would be welcome right now.

What I've enjoyed the last couple of weeks is some of the longer-standing characters getting some more screentime. We've had prominent scenes with Steve, Tracy, Ken, Tim, Nick, Leanne, etc. It feels like we see very little of these characters nowadays. Their storylines aren't going to go down as the best in Corrie history but I could watch Steve and Tracy interacting with each other all day...!

Sadly in general it does seem like some characters are being neglected. We see Eileen once every few months it seems, Sally doesn't pop up much any more, Debbie's a spare part, and Gail's been reduced to a comedy character. Kevin and Abi are depressingly underused when it felt like they had every major storyline a few years ago (and it's a waste particularly of Sally Carman's talents). I love that Corrie's putting a focus on new characters to help create new legends for years down the line, especially the younger talent in Amy, Asha, Aadi, etc, but I'd like to see more of a balance between them and the legends.

Iain MacLeod is going to be overseeing Emmerdale as well as Coronation Street going forward, which makes me wonder whether he might be delegating the day-to-day running of Corrie to somebody else. I hope so, because I feel like we could do with a fresh outlook at this stage.
