December 17, 200618 yr Author From http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun Touring end is near for Robbie Chloe Adams http://i16.tinypic.com/49js57p.jpg December 18, 2006 12:00am CHLOE Adams writes: British pop star Robbie Williams wowed a record 64,000 fans at Telstra Dome last night in one of the last, but most eagerly anticipated, concert tours of the year. The ever-entertaining Williams gave fans a hi-tech production filled with pyrotechnics and a string of hits. Unfortunately, there were no added bonuses on offer at the first of Williams' two Melbourne gigs. However tonight's could offer some special treats, as it is the last of his world tour. The seasoned entertainer arrived on stage amid plumes of smoke and fireballs, opening the show with Radio. Williams was soon up to his old stage tricks, prancing about and preening, his arsenal of slightly deranged facial expressions displayed on giant screens. However looking tired and drained from months of touring, Williams appeared all too aware he was nearing an indefinite hiatus from performing. Williams's powerful voice shone in the falsetto-ridden Trippin' and the Take That song Back for Good. Let Me Entertain You rocked the Dome, and the show ended on a spine-tingling note with Angels and Kids.
December 17, 200618 yr Author From http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun Robbie's Kylie no-show a puzzler SATURDAY'S Kylie Minogue concert came and went, but there was no sign of her star pal, heart-throb Robbie Williams. The Brit had been touted to sing duet Kids with Kylie on stage, but instead the pop princess's sister, Dannii, filled the spot. And tickets that Williams had for the show were not used. So, what busy scheduling kept Williams from appearing at Rod Laver Arena? Apparently not much. Williams was seen having a quiet drink at the Langham Hotel bar on Saturday evening after tussling with mates and the Melbourne Victory boys on the soccer field. Maybe he was resting the vocal cords for his Telstra Dome gig last night. The Kylie and Dannii duet had been a long time coming. They last performed together onstage in Melbourne at the 1987 I Say No concert at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. They did a very Young Talent Time-esque rendition of the Pointer Sisters' Twist My Arm.
December 17, 200618 yr Author I've lost track. Is the final concert this afternoon (European time) or Monday afternoon (European time)?
December 17, 200618 yr I heard it's on Monday afternoon (European time) A Croatian Kylie Minogue fan told me so...
December 17, 200618 yr Author That's what I thought at first but then I thought it's a bit weird to have the final concert of the Tour on a Monday night.
