Before I start the Top 10 I will reveal my Top 5 Solo(ish) singles. (It was going to be top 3 but I've extended it to 5)

That'll come later in the day.

My Top 5 Solo Singles:

#5. Lisa Scott Lee - Too Far Gone

#4. Claire Richards - 7 Billion

#3. Claire Richards - End Before We Start

#2. H & Claire - Half A Heart

#1. H & Claire - All Out Of Love

Starting off with #5, Too Far Gone was the second solo single released by Lisa who was my favourite member of the group back then. I was so excited when I found out she had released solo music, even though I was a little late to discover it. I think it was around late 2004 when her Intenso Project collaboration got a release here in Australia. For me this is the best of her solo output. #4-#1 are all incredibly close Claire Richards solo album had some great tracks and 7 Billion and End Before We Start are two of the standouts for me.

Back when Steps split I was devastated though the blow was somewhat softened when H & Claire released music as a duo. (I wasn't aware of the whole backstory until later on). Sounding like they could've been lifted straight from a 2002 Steps album Half A Heart and All Out Of Love are both great pop songs.

#10 - Only In My Dreams

The last album track in my Top 25 drops out, and it's Only In My Dreams. Only In My Dreams was one of 4 new songs recorded for Steps 2001 greatest hits album Gold. I remember hearing this one for the very first time when I got Gold in December 2001 and really enjoying it. I don't actually think I've told this story but I purchased it on December 27, which as you know would've been December 26 in the UK. So you can imagine my shock and sadness when I get home that afternoon put the CD in my computer, get onto the internet and find out that they've split. Bittersweet day. Anyway back to the song, I always wished this got a single released and felt disappointed that it never came to be, though I doubt it would've been a fourth single after Baby Don't Dance anyway. Like many album tracks I'd completely forgotten this one until I listened to all their albums during my lockdown walks in 2020.

A surprise but hey ho! Singles all the way now!

Nice solo list and I do enjoy your #1

Only in my dreams is nice, but not good enough to be top 10 imo.

Curious wich singles will be in your top 9!
