Has anyone seen it? If so, whats it like?

I think i'm going to see it on Thursday. :D

From the reviews i've heard of it so far they all say its terrible though.

It's just another stupid, pointless remake.... The original had an ominous, oppressive atmosphere about it, and if you weren't familiar with the whole set-up (which a 1970s audience wouldn't have been, bear in mind.....) then the idea of it is pretty terrifying...

There are moments in this film, in the way that Glen Morgan has shot certain scenes using certain angles that just make it look like an episode of "X-Files" (which, it will come as no surprise, he wrote and directed many episodes of along with his writing/directing partner James Wong..), particularly the "Tooms" episodes of the show's first season.... The whole idea of the killer having this 'liver disease' which gives his skin an odd, yellowy pigmentation is a direct reference to Tooms and the "X-Files"....

Stick with "X-Files" folks, even the most average episode of that is about 10 times better than this pile of c**p....

think most of the films this week are so bad, ill be having gammon on the 25th!!! turkey time gobble gobble!!!

Its an awful remake, steer well clear of it, even the original scared the $hit out of me

Is it gory? Cause I'm taking a friend to see it and I said it wouldn't be bad?

Doesn't look too good, but I love slasher flicks so meh

It is pretty nasty actually, you see eye-balls being gouged out, there's cannibalism, there's bludgeonings with various implements.... It's actually more violent than the original film, which is an '18' on DVD....

From the trailer it doesn't look as if it would be THAT violent. :o Guess I must be mistaken. :o

I still don't see how the film itself can be a 15, yet the original DVD is an 18 though and the re-make is more gory.

I've seen the original and I thought that was boring. It didnt scare me at all. But it did have a good ending.

Trust me, I've seen both versions... The original has a more ominous, cold-blooded atmosphere and is quite realistic, whereas the remake is just so OTT and idiotic with its stupid cannibalistic 'mutants' (the original is scarier because the 'monster' is all too human...) that it seems more like a kids film despite the fact that its incredibly violent.

It's pretty disturbing that so long as you make the violence cartoonish (yet still incredibly nasty..) that you can get away with a 15.....

in Denmark its probs a 7+ then

i saw this film last night and it was alright but it was very predictable

i saw about 15 mins of it. couldnt be arsed after sitting thru this after Eragon (Deja Vu also saw that day - alright) the beginning looked like it should be a spoof.

maybe theses film should just be like those girls gone wild dvds and instead of calling it black xmas should just be a series called 'cute girls get slaughtered' as it looks like this is the level the makers are looking for.

Frankly, films like "Black Christmas 2006" are even worse than these awful 80s 'slasher' films (you know, "Hell Night", "Prom Night", "The Burning", etc...) because no matter how stupid those got at least they didn't try to make out like they were being oh-so-"post-modern" and clever....

yeah old films have a kind of shoddyness which make them like so appealing. like instead of all the easy thromegabucks cgi kinda primitive fx that they've had to think hard how to do on a budget and also the music is refreshing instead of identikit 'disneypunk'
