Missing the top 200 Globally, in the US and UK is extremely disappointing imo, playlist support or not. I really thought there was enough general hype about this for it to at leats have a decent first day response, and that Gaga was a big enough name really.

Yep, don't know what Little Monsters were up to yesterday tbh - even the Youtube audio got over 1.2 million listens so really thought it'd get 1.5 million or sth on Spotify globally.
So. I hear this flopped. Onto Alice!!!! She was never going to have teo Shallows anyway. All us TRUE Alice fans knew that!!
Gaga has never learned. She missed out in loads of no 1s with stupid release times, and she is doing it again!!

I mean I have to agree with this. Not saying it would've been massive a debut on Friday but at least it would've had a full day of downloads counting for it

I think the best chance to see how the general public respond to this will be after the films been released. That’s when we will know if it’s caught on or not. I think it’ll be a hit personally just with a slower start but the release of the actual movie will be when we know for real I’d say.

Spotify itself actually tweeted about the Hold my Hand release yesterday so maybe that’s a good sign there’s going to be some playlist adds coming it’s way but with the movie release still a few weeks ago I think it’s peak is going to happen then.

Random question here but in terms of ACR I know that applies usually when a song has charted for 9 weeks and had a decline for three weeks in a row right? Does the song in question have to have charted at #100 or higher for the 9 weeks to start like for Hold my Hand if say it misses the top 100 this week will it’s debut chart wise be when it was released or when it first charted?

Totally agree

I think it's 9 weeks on chart, so if it debuts this week, drops out next week and re-enters later, it'll move to ACR status after spending 9 weeks on chart at the earliest.

Also, soundtrack songs / singles don't necessarily go anywhere:

Just Look Up by Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi didn't chart anywhere

Be Alive by Beyoncé reached mighty heights of #36 in New Zealand

Shallow also didn't debut on Spotify Global on its debut and today it has almost 1.8B so let's wait how things will turn out, the song has 0 investment so far.

This song did not chart at #36 in NZ, that chart is NZ's "bubbling under", not the official chart.
