Happy to see Stomp that high! They have songs that might deserve the #1 more but it’s still a great stomper!

The slightest, another song that suited them really well. Could’ve been a nice top 100 hit for them..

Summer is great

Thanks for posting the rest, interesting to see!

#10 - What The Future Holds - 92

Kicking off our top 10 is the lead single from the album with the same name, What The Future Holds. Released in September 2020 it continues on the path set by 2017 album Tears On The Dancefloor of bringing Steps music into the current day. I’ve heard somewhere that this was written by none other than Sia, is this true? On a scores front What The Future Holds received votes from all seven participants. (18-2-15-10-22-14-11).

Hazelnuts - 8th (18)

Paradise Lost - 24th (2)

Yobnedor - 11th (15)

Lukuzz - 16th (10)

Feel_The_Fever - 4th - (22)

Spiceboy - 12th - (14)

Jay - 15th (11)

#9 - Last Thing On My Mind - 93

Taking out the #9 position in the Ultimate 25 was the first Steps single released not to be originally by Steps themselves. Last Thing On My Mind (a cover of the 1992 Bananarama song) was released in the UK on April 20th 1998 and would go on to peak at #6 in the UK (their highest charting hit to that point). It would also find international success, reaching #5 in Australia and #1 in Belgium. Last Thing On My Mind received votes from all seven participants (11-21-21-13-15-10-2).

Hazelnuts - 15th (11)

Paradise Lost - 5th (21)

Yobnedor - 5th (21)

Lukuzz - 13th (13)

Feel_The_Fever - 11th - (15)

Spiceboy - 16th - (10)

Jay - 24th (2)

Really happy to see what the future holds make the top 10 as I'm a big fan and last thing on my mind deserves its place aswell.

#8 - Tragedy - 100

Tragedy comes in at #8 in the Ultimate 25 and it also becomes the first song in the countdown to reach the 100 mark for points. This was a cover of the 1979 Bee Gees hit and was released alongside Heartbeat. Considered by many as Steps signature song it went all the way to #1 in early 1999. Internationally it reached #10 in Australia, #8 in Belgium, #2 in Ireland and #1 in New Zealand. It may be Steps signature song but it’ll need to settle for #8 in the Ultimate 25. Tragedy received votes from all seven participants. (15-19-14-1-14-15-22).

Hazelnuts - 11th (15)

Paradise Lost - 7th (19)

Yobnedor - 12th (14)

Lukuzz - 25th (1)

Feel_The_Fever - 12th - (14)

Spiceboy - 11th - (15)

Jay - 4th (22)

#7 - Better Best Forgotten - 101

Another single from Step One drops out at #7, and this time it’s the single that closed the hugely successful first era for Steps. Better Best Forgotten was released in March 1999 in the UK and would go on to be another #2 peaking song for Steps. This one is a little bittersweet for me. Yes I love the song personally but it also marked the beginning of Steps singles not being released in Australia, which was a shame. Better Best Forgotten received votes from six of the seven participants including two 25’s (Feel_The_Fever & Spiceboy) (17-17-4-25-25-13).

Hazelnuts - 9th (17)

Paradise Lost - 9th (17)

Yobnedor - 22nd (4)

Feel_The_Fever - 1st - (25)

Spiceboy - 1st - (25)

Jay - 13th (13)

After rating it number 1 obviously I think better best forgotten should be higher but least it made the top 10, I expected tragedy to come in around where it is which is a fair enough result for it.

Still on track for my top 5 prediction!

Lukuzz thought this one was better best forgotten!

Happy to see What top 10. Another great single from their comeback material

Surprised Last got this high! Happy as I appreciate the song again.

Tragedy, one of their ultimate classics (especially for the general public)

Better is what Steps do best! Fun and uplifting pop music. Not a fan of the video though :P

What The Future Holds - I've slowly come around to this, but for me I think it suffers from being compared to Scared of the Dark, which is totally unfair as it's like comparing 5,6,7,8 to Loves Got A Hold On My Heart.

Last Thing On My Mind - Love this one, it's still such a joy every time I hear it! So happy this made top 10.

Tragedy - I went through a phase where I didn't like this as much but I'm fully back on board with this. Great to see it finish where it did.

Better Best Forgotten - Another gem from the first album, happy to see it in the top 10.

#6 coming up!

#6 - Neon Blue - 105

Time for another one of Steps newer songs to feature in the Ultimate 25, in at #6 and falling just short of the top 5 is Neon Blue. Released as the third single from comeback album Tears On The Dancefloor it was a fan favourite from the moment most of us heard it. Receiving votes from all seven participants across two versions it ends on a score of 105. (16-7-11-3-24-24-20).

Hazelnuts - 10th (16)

Paradise Lost - 19th (7)

Yobnedor - 15th (11)

Lukuzz - 23rd - (3)

Feel_The_Fever - 2nd - (24)

Spiceboy - 2nd - (24)

Jay - 6th (20)

It's a tragedy lukuzz thought it should be better best forgotten.

haha 0 for BBF and 1 for Tragedy for me, I have an acquired taste lol!

wow Neon Blue is high !

Omg have I called the top 5?!

I honestly can’t call it! But I think the top 5 will be:

One For Sorrow

Deeper Shade of Blue

It’s The Way…

Scared of the Dark

Something in Your Eyes

This was my prediction of top 5 songs!
