Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders has revealed that the band's second album is near completion.

 

The album is set to be released sometime in late Spring next year, and Helders said:

 

"We've nearly finished. We've just been up to Liverpool to finish it off. We've been getting more help from our producers, Mike Crossey and James Ford from Simian Mobile Disco who we'd worked with before on B-sides."

 

"It's definitely different - a step on, I guess. We're all better at playing us instruments. It's as simple as that really. It's a bit louder and a bit faster in places but we've still got the slow bits as well."

 

I reckon the album will be out for around mid May time. :cheer:

 

I wonder what the first single will be though. :o

Yeah, I can see the slags making devastating reviews -_- It always happens. When a band try something different, fresh and new, everybody diss them saying their new material is 'c**p', but if they stick to the sound of the previews album, they diss them because the sound is 'samey'. <_< :arrr:

That's EXACTLY what I said not so long ago :lol: You can never win can you -_- This is brilliant news anyway and I'm excited to hear what they all come up with. :dance:

Yup whatever they bring out they'll be slated for bringing out no doubt. -_- Also I don't think they second album will do as well as the first, well unless the lead single is huge so there will no doubt be a lot of "There finished already". :lol:

I'm not a huge an of The Killers but IMO the second album is nowhere near as good as the first. I think theres only about 3 or 4 tracks that I really like on the second album were there is 8 I really like on the first. :(

On Mardy-Bum.com there is a video of Matt and he has said that his part of the album is complete. :cheer:

 

All they have to do now is tweak everything and then get ready to start promotion for the album so hopefully the album should be released about May time I reckon. :D

I prefer The Killers 2nd album to the debut. :lol:

 

I am looking forward to this Arctic Monkeys album, it's bound to be another big seller no matter what write-ups it is given because it is Arctic Monkeys. I am expecting the backlash to begin from NME shortly but at the end of the day it's the way the music industry works and whenever a band makes music in a new direction they're always going to lose some fans but can possibly gain others too. :)
