over the next year there is gonna be an influx of toons (mainly cgi) on the big screen. films such as ice age 2, cars, over the headge, ratatoville, foodfight!, meet the robinsons, teenage mutant ninja turtles, surf's up, shrek 3 and flushed away to name but a few.

do you think this is a good thing, or do you think the quality (of such films as the original shrek and wallace & gromitt) is going to decline, with every multiplex just being filled up with the sort of stuff that's alright for 4 year olds?

Yes, saturation is never a good thing, it leads to a general drop in quality. Same thing seems to be happening with horror films as well over the past couple of years. Every so often you'll get a cracker like "Wolf Creek", "The Descent" or "Devil's Rejects", but it seems for every one of these, you get about three or four "House of Wax" types of "horror"..... <_<

i hear the dark and an american haunting are even worse than house of wax (which to be fair had paris hilton coming a cropper  )

for one ive given up on many of the recent horrors, the only ones that are alright are the ones that are slightly funny like fd3 and cabin fever.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Why are they making a film of that. They just don't know what to do next anymore so they need to remake classic cartoons into films. It really annoys me. The films often look cheap anyway. Look at the Scooby Doo film they keep advertising. I'd much rather watch the old cartoon to be honest.
I've got to admit that I really like the cartoon based genre but at the moment there just making a whole load of c**p ones like Chicken Little and Shark Tale, and thinking big name starts can get them high up the box office when it can but the reviews for the films ar awful.

i like cartoons (especially Spirited Away, Howl's etc and other animation things like Wallace and Gromit and Corpse Bride), however it seem that studios are just gonna go overboard and rush out substandard stuff
