Posted April 6, 200619 yr Well i became a fan once i heard Old Before i die. But i did'nt buy Life Thru a lens until i heard the wonderful Angels. :D Around that time, i never thought i would buy a robbie album cause back then he was just a manufactured pop act who left Take that. But once i bought Life thru a lens i could'nt beleive how great it was. It was'nt what i expected at all to be honest. It was like a proper rock album, not a cheesy pop album in which i kind of expected in a way. Then once i saw him in Slane in 1999, i was officially robsessed :cheer:
April 6, 200619 yr I've always followed his career. I was very much a "Thatter" from the word go, and Robbie and Little Marky were always my fave members of the band. :D I had the pleasure of seeing TT at Wembley Arena. When Robbie left and they split I wasn't impressed with any of the music that Gary or Mark did (altho Mark has since improved!) but I immediately loved Robbies music and knew instantly that I would be a big fan!! And I am! I had the pleasure of seeing him at Knebworth and also at Live 8. I'm looking forward to seeing him twice this year, altho god knows where!! LOL! (btw, I dont have tix for TT's reunion, to me they were a 5 piece band and always will be and thats how I'll remember them :D ) Edited April 6, 200619 yr by hulio
April 6, 200619 yr well i love take that but as for Robbie i prefer his songs to him, he has had some great songs ^_^
April 6, 200619 yr Early TT days (1991 - I was 10 at the time!) First gig of his I went to (as a solo artist) was @ Hammersmith Palais (1997 tour) From then on, I was hooked "music wise" :)
April 6, 200619 yr I was in a record store and there was a 2 for 1 offer on. I bought....um.....something...I forget  and my hubby bought The Robbie Williams show DVD. That was the begining
April 8, 200619 yr One of my brothers USED to be a big fan of his and after hearing most of Life Thru A Lens I liked him however when Rock DJ came out he went off him and thought he was an idiot however I'm still a fan and think he's at his best since his first two albums right now. :D
April 8, 200619 yr Author One of my brothers USED to be a big fan of his and after hearing most of Life Thru A Lens I liked him however when Rock DJ came out he went off him and thought he was an idiot however I'm still a fan and think he's at his best since his first two albums right now. :D I'm the exact same Nicky :D My brother also USED to be a big Robbie fan along with his mates but around the time of the Swing album they lost intrest  I think they felt it to was cool to like him back then. My Brother still does like his songs but just is'nt a big fan anymore :( I agree that IC is his best since his first 2 album
April 8, 200619 yr I wasn't into TT although I think they were a great group. My son was the beginning, he had LTAL and was constantly playing Angels, along with Always by Jon Jovi. I loved them both. I kept asking what and who was he was listening to in his room. Then he got IBEY and he played it non-stop and it was that Robbie Williams again. :D I started to cotton on. :D It wasn't until I watched Slane and realised what a talent he was live on stage singing great songs and performing them with great appeal that I had found a "star" I could believe in and support. I have been supporting him ever since. There is no-one to touch him in any category for me. I am pleased to say all my boys like Robbie, he may not be cool or particularly 'in mode' for them, and maybe they don't go admitting to it, but they have all the albums and they went to Knebworth, Live 8 and are also going to, cough, cough, Wembley, plus they also wear the 2003 'tattoo' tee shirts. April 25, 200619 yr I loved all his songs, and became a fan as soon as I saw him perform. Then I got into his character, his wit, his feelings, I like the way he sort of welcomes you into his life, as much as he wants us to know, though his lyrics. I think that is how he hooks you in.
