Posted December 19, 200618 yr From U2.com A Window on Rock'n'Roll The video for Window in the Skies, the new single released on January 1st, can safely be described as ‘legendary’. A work of brilliant editing, the video stars a dazzling cast of rock’n’roll icons from Elvis Presley to Marvin Gaye, Patti Smith to Frank Sinatra.. and dozens of others. And everyone is on on lead vocals. As for U2 themselves – you’ll be hard pressed to spot them. (But you just might). VskbxuehP3I

January 23, 200718 yr http://www.sligoweekender.ie/news/story.as...t=entertainment U2 video is most definitely better than the real thing! I hate U2. No sooner do I make a point about the death of the music video and the fact that MTV doesn’t play music any more than they release their latest music video . . . on MTV. What’s more, this video and its simple concept is so darn good that it is likely to be remembered as one of their very best. Window In The Skies is a new track included on the band’s latest album U2 18 Singles which is yet another re-hash of the band’s music career committed to CD (and in limited edition on DVD). The song itself could have slipped into oblivion as a sub-Vertigo slice of Bono-penned dross, but something very strange happened – the video seems to have saved the song. For those who have yet to see Window In The Skies, I’ll offer a brief description. The video is basically a homage to music from U2. The words of the song are matched up with other performers, from Nina Simone to Nirvana, through a mix of black and white and colour live performance footage. In fact, the band themselves make only the briefest of appearances, blending in with various crowd shots. The overall effect had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up, despite the fact that I really do hate U2. ^_^
