Beyonce going for the Number 1 and why not as it could be her last chance of a Number 1 single.

Unless you know something that we don't, I don't see why that would be the case?

Why would it be her last chance?

The songs are showing stability on iTunes, with a healthy lead and topping Amazon, with additional charting versions. The sales could potentially close the streaming gap, depending on how they hold up today.

3. Beyoncé - Break My Soul (=)

14. Beyoncé - Break My Soul (will.i.am. remix) (+1)

16. Beyoncé - Break My Soul (Terry Hunter remix) (=)

17. Beyoncé - Break My Soul (Honey Dijon remix) (=)

22. Beyoncé - Break My Soul (Nita Aviance club remix) (=)

43. Beyoncé - Break My Soul (Acapella version) (-3)

51. Beyoncé - Break My Soul (album version) (-3)

55. Beyoncé - Break My Soul (instrumental version) (+1)

Adding up all the versions:

Afraid to Feel: 1.04407276

Break My Soul: 1.2634598949

Amazon:

Break My Soul: 1+14+17

Afraid to Feel: 8

If they had these remixes ready to go it's strange they didn't drop them earlier in the week when they could have closed the sales gap.

Realistically?

She's in her 40s and the industry is notoriously ageist, especially against females. Add that her single success has always been rather varied and yeah, it's possible that Break My Soul is her last shot at a number one single.

Madonna was 50 when 4 Minutes was a hit so obviously Beyoncé still has several years left chasing hits if she wants to.

Those are exceptions rather than the rule. And M-Dolla had to resort to Justin Timberlake to get it.

Cher was 52 when 'Believe' hit #1. Of course your chances of getting a #1 diminish the older you get but you can never write anyone off. I think Bey's star power is still big enough to give her a shot at #1 with her next era (as long as she doesn't leave it a decade obvs and provided the material is commercial sounding).

Beyoncé still seems fairly untouchable, I can't see her star fading within the next few years. I'd say for at least the next two albums she'll still have big hitting eras.

And what reason is there to say Beyoncé isn't also an exception? There's no sign of her career being in decline yet.

Of course it's possible this might be her 'last chance' at a #1 but no moreso than you can say that about basically any artist in contention for #1 any time ever. Saying it kind of implies she's about to retire or something.

especially these days with tiktok you cannot say that anymore about anyone

look at Kate Bush!

Kate Bush is 64 this year so stranger things have happened than a female artist in their 40's getting a #1.

16. The 1975 - Happiness

22. Eliza Rose & Interplanetary Criminal - B.O.T.A. (Baddest of Them All)

33. Lizzo - 2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)

36. Sofia Carson - I Hate the Way

54. Nicky Youre & Dazy - Sunroof

91. JAE5 - Propeller (feat. Dave & BNXN fka Buju)

I don't think those sales from remixes are enough to push #1.

It's sadly not. But a #2 peak is still incredibly impressive, especially after 25 years in the industry.
