With the release of TS10 ‘Midnights’ on the 21st October, we thought we’d start a poll to see where you think Midnights will debut, what it will sell and what you think its peak will be. As you are all aware, the Arctic Monkeys will also be releasing an album and this will somewhat complicate things.

I'm unsure what I want to guess yet.

Okay I’ve gone and taken a wild and optimistic guess:

Debut and peak: #1

First week sales: 60,000 - 69,000

 

Good to see some other optimistic predictions :wub:

I am usually not right on this stuff, but here we go.

 

Debut: #1

First week sales: 70,000-79,000

Peak: #1

Interestingly, 6 people think it’s gonna debut at #1 and 6 at #2…

I’m actually feeling more optimistic about a #1 debut.

I’d change my prediction to 70,000 - 79,000…

As for the US? Surely #1 but how many sales?! Lover sold 679,000 units in its debut week while Reputation sold 1.2 million units. With no lead single, who knows…

I believe Lover sold 867,000 overall in its debut week including streaming, it was 679,000 pure sales..

 

Folklore also did very similar numbers, 846,000 overall with 615,000 pure sales..

 

Part of me thinks if she can do those Folklore numbers with a surprise release, 0 pre orders and no lead single.. then she may just tip the million mark this time? I never thought we'd get a 1m+ debut in the US again after Adele didn't manage it with 30 but both Folklore and Lover debuted with bigger first week sales :blink:

 

She has gone HAM with the amount of variants this time too to the point where people are actually getting annoyed at her/making tiktoks about how this level of capitalism is not ok :lol: and a lot of her US fans are huge collectors who will buy most of, if not every variant!

I’d love it if you were right - can you imagine. But… I feel it will fall short and so similar Lover numbers despite 869 different formats …
