Ya I agree about Javine, in real life it might be different but on screen she didn't come across likeable at all.

I do!

I hope they promote it more as it comes nearer to the release date. Apart from the first day reveal, it’s been very low-key. I’m afraid it won’t sell as much as hoped for, but hopefully it’s doing better than I’m anticipating. I don’t want sluggish sales to put the label off pressing the albums.

I hope the new vocals mix isnt the “without Kimberley” version which has been doing the rounds since Day 1

[Verse 1]

Disco dancing with the lights down low (Nicola) [originally Sarah]

Beats are pumping on the stereo (Kimberley) [originally Cheryl]

[Refrain]

Water's runnin' in the wrong direction (Cheryl) [originally Nadine]

Got a feelin' it's a mixed up sign (Nadine) [originally Kimberley]

I can see it in my own reflection (Nicola) [originally Sarah]

Something funny's goin' on inside my mind (Sarah) [originally Cheryl]

Don't know what is pushin' me higher (Nadine and Kimberley) [originally just Nadine]

Then its drops and catches like a fire (Kimberley) [originally Nicola]

[Verse 2]

Chain reaction running through my veins (Sarah) [originally Kimberley, although we do have a leaked version which had Sarah on this line]

Screws my mind until I lose control (Kimberley) [originally Nadine]

And when the building rocks I know it's got my soul (Nicola) [originally Nadine]

I'm revisiting Sound of The Underground a lot as of late.

It was a strong debut and really set their career up.

I can't wait to receive my vinyl.

I do wish it had the Stay Another Day B-side included - it's frustrating that it isn't on streaming platforms either.

I was very surprised to receive the vinyl today considering it’s a Sunday and there’s strikes :o :cheer:

I really love it. The design/layout is so faithful to the original CDs it almost looks like it could have been made 20 years ago. It does make me really desire all of their other singles to be reissued on 7” though and I know that’s incredibly unlikely

I hope this has sold decently! I fear the price tag was offputting for people even with the charity aspect. We’ll see! I just want the record label to get on with pressing the albums now. It’s crazy that there still isn’t even one Girls Aloud album on vinyl.

Worth noting that in the Alternative Vocal Version, even if a line is sung by the same girl as the final version, they’re actually a different vocal take!

Surprised that no one is talking about this version apart from me so far!!

Think that was wishful thinking considering the domination of Christmas songs in the midweeks!
Think that was wishful thinking considering the domination of Christmas songs in the midweeks!

How many copies does it take to make the Monday midweeks? After all, we know that 5,000 copies of the vinyl were made available.

In the equivalent midweeks last year the #100 was 2,375!

I guess there’s two things to take into account. One being that some copies will have been bought from outside the UK and won’t be counted here. But also that overall it may not have sold as well as hoped for. Even with the charity angle I think £15.99 for a 7” single is excessive, and that became £19.94 with postage! Even as a big fan I was a bit 😱 at the price (but bought it anyway x)

It’s always a bit shocking to remember that their picture disc vinyl releases retailed for just £1.99! (Makes me wish I’d bought multiple copies at the time because they make quite a lot of money now :kink: ). Record labels have bumped up the prices of vinyl singles way too much I think. £20 for a 7” single is going to make them miss out on many potential casual sales, I’d imagine.
