Posted December 22, 200618 yr I hope you guys dont mind this, but it seems like many Ev fans are missing out on a good few similarish bands that they would probably like but cos they dont get nearly as much hype or MTV rotation, they just slip through the cracks.... THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE The Birthday Massacre are a Canadian band, pretty new to the scene, but their 2005 album "Violet" (which only seems to be available on Import in this country :( ...) is a cool-sounding mixture of Poppy Goth, Industrial and Synth-pop... Singer Chibi is a real little cutie (a bit of Siouxsie, a bit of Amy, a bit of Jack Off Jill's Jessicka), and the guys in the band are WAY hotter than the UglyEvGeezers (lol), for all you who are interested in the more aesthetic side of things.... Musically, they're a mixture of The Cure, NIN, Manson (before he went c**p), Strawberry Switchblade, Garbage, Curve, Depeche Mode and Gary Numan... The band write, produce and mix their own albums/EPs... I really like it when bands exert a total control over how they sound... Visit their Myspace page to find out more.... December 22, 200618 yr Blue - Woa, the opening music reminded me of A Nightmare On Elm Street, then when the actaull sound comes in it sounds brilliant! There vocalist singer is VERY good, she adds a great effect to the song! The video is brilliant, chucky anyone? :P You can tell by listening to the song that it's been structured together very carefully ^_^ Never Mind - Same as the last bit from above ^ You can by listening to it it quater way that it's been put together carefully and cleverly, although I don't like the influence of pop? in the opening. Not a fan of this song, I prefer Blue Happy Birthday - I'm loving the voice effects on this song! From the whispering to the Depeche Mode style of the song. There a very good band :D

I think the fact that they control every aspect of the recording and writing process is the reason for the very careful structure to the music...
January 7, 200718 yr I wish I could see the videos but unfortunately a brazilian model had sex with her boyfriend in publich and the video leaked to youtube, she moved her sticks with her lawyers and the whole site is not available for acess in this country, lol.

Good God!!!!! Okay, then try going onto Birthday Massacre's actual MySpace page then... You should at least be able to hear audio files of the songs there..... They're a really cool band, I just dont get why more Ev fans (or indeed NIN, Marilyn Manson or Depeche Mode fans come to think..) haven't cottoned on to them, they deserve to be a LOT bigger than they are, their songs have some absolutely gorgeous hooks, and are structured with a lot of care... They are a very talented group of young musicians and really have a very good sense of how to produce their music as well, which so many bands seem to lack, but BM have totally nailed the precise way they want to sound in the first go of doing a full-length album... I am very impressed with the "Violet" album....
