A German win would be a bit of a surprise. Their problem will be the intensity they play at in the heat - don't think they can play that way for long periods. Also they are so mad at attacking, they are easily countered. Think they will do OK because expectations are much lower for them, but would suspect the Euros in 2024 would be more realistic.

 

I do think this World Cup is quite open though, there's no team at their peak and I think Portugal might be affected by the Ronaldo stuff and the Brazil camp is split politically which could have an effect too.

Don’t think the heat will be THAT much of a burden it’s generally 28-32 degrees by day and 18-20 at night in Doha similar to a euros in France in July!

I just don’t think it’s that warm compared to a Northern European mid summer tournament. Their summer temps would be ridiculous like 45 degrees!

 

Also think this World Cup being mid season will mean it could be better from the off as players are fully fit with no break.

Argentina for me. Then Brazil. They meet in a semi if both top their groups. What a semi final that will be! They can only meet in the final if one comes second.

All the stadiums have air-con and some fans were putting coats on today as they were cold!
