When Viva Forever turns 25 they absolutely have to get the Live at Wembley version uploaded to their Youtube in HQ. I demand it.

 

Track 20 - Spice Up Your Life - Morales Radio Mix

One of my favourite remixes! :yahoo: Them incorporating this version into the 2019 tour performances :cheeseblock:

My absolute favourite remix of any of their songs, just love the Morales SUYL remix. The chorus is so glorious on it.

 

Track 21 - Stop - Morales Remix / Edit

This Stop remix doesn't do a lot for me but a new remix released is never a bad thing. It is too long though, takes forever to get going, 1 minute in I still had no idea what song it was if I wasn't told.

I love this Stop morales remix edit. One of my favourite out of the SW25 remixes.

I feel like they tried to recapture the success of the WDYTYA and SUYL remixes and it didn’t quite land.

I don't mind the Stop remix, but 3:47 and 4:00 length versions exist of the Morales Remix, which I find preferable to a version that is approaching 6 minutes (7 minutes on the original CD single and over 9 minutes on the vinyl!!).

 

When it comes to this Edit - I'm not sure if this is something specially created in 2022 or if it stems back to 1998 but just wasn't used at the time. The edit isn't just a case of them chopping off the beginning and ending off of the full length. The structure of the opening of this "new" Edit is a bit different to the original length versions.

 

Track 22 - Too Much - SoulShock & Karlin Remix

I've always found this version of Too Much to be quite pleasant. I don't think there's much else to say about it really!

This remix of Too Much makes it sound like a Brandy mid 90s RnB number. Not a bad thing.

The intro sounds remind me of the end of an episode of a 90s nickelodeon sitcom :D

Track 23 - Viva Forever - John Themis Ambient Mix

So this is the only truly "new" remix from a commercial point of view, having only been on a CD-R promo in 1998 which eventually leaked. It's nice that they've finally made it a commercially available remix.

 

This version essentially seems to be guitar version of Viva Forever, more stripped back than the album version. It's very pretty.

Anything Viva Forever for me is amazing. I don't love this remix as much as others do but it got the best streaming numbers of the 2nd disc yesterday so happy any time Viva Forever gets some extra love, streams and sales.
