Posted November 8, 20222 yr Belgium 2023 Gustaph Because of You uYWhh-E_VPo The NS lineup has been announced. The 7 shortlisted acts are: Ameerah Chérine gala dragot Gustaph Hunter Falls Loredana The Starlings Loredana is not to be confused with Romanian Loredana. Imagine the gag if both Loredanas are in Eurovision :kink: The Starlings is another big name that you could recall. Edited January 15, 20232 yr by uhsting
November 9, 20222 yr No idea what a The Starlings is but I recognise the name Ameerah from featuring on that one Madcon song.
November 9, 20222 yr Ameerah also was participant in BJSC long time ago with The Sound Of Missing You!!!
November 9, 20222 yr No idea what a The Starlings is but I recognise thr name Ameerah from featuring on that one Madcon song. Half of The Starlings is Tom Dice of Me & My Guitar fame
December 15, 20222 yr Author You can now listen to the 14 snippets, 2 from each artist here: https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2022/12/12/eur...elijke-liedjes/
January 13, 20232 yr Final lineup for the final tomorrow night - all of these are on streaming. Ameerah - The Carnival Chérine - ca m'ennuie pas Gala Dragot - t'inquiete Gustaph - Because Of You Hunter Falls - Ooh La La Loredana - You Lift Me Up The Starlings - Rollercoaster Cherine is definitely the fan fave but I'm not sold on the Flemish public voting for a song in French enough to overcome the name power The Starlings will have over the others.
January 14, 20232 yr Either Cherine or Gala Dragot would be an amazing pick but I wouldn't hate the Starlings getting picked either, as much as it feels like a retread of 'heartfelt duet singing to each other' song that occurs relatively often.
January 14, 20232 yr Chérine's song is As It Was sped up in a major key. And I have it on loop :w00t: Edited January 14, 20232 yr by Colm
January 14, 20232 yr Flanders once again proving Wallonia is the superior one when it comes to Eurovision. Gustaph is going to Liverpool. Guess I'll be rooting for The Netherlands instead
January 14, 20232 yr Author Shock winner tonight, as Gustaph defeats frontrunners Cherine and The Starlings to represent Belgium :o J90sSoNKTHA
January 14, 20232 yr That's it. I'm no longer following national selections any more. Too disappointing when the song I like is booted out in favour or something average.
January 14, 20232 yr I heard Chérine's song yesterday and instantly loved it, so just knew it wouldn't get through  As if she came 4th though! Gustaph sounds like...a non-qualifier. It's like an early 00s Eurovision flop if it had been produced by Alex Party in 1995, bizarre.
January 15, 20232 yr Chérine and Loredana were my favourites, so given they weren't close to winning in the end, I'm finding it hilarious how wrong this went and how The Starlings were beaten by one point.
January 15, 20232 yr This is camp. Actually found it quite enjoyable… But, the staging and costume design need work.
January 18, 20232 yr Author My rating: 1. t'inquete (9/10) 2. The Carnival (8/10) 3. Ooh La La (8/10) 4. ARMAGEDDON (7/10) 5. Ça m'ennuie pas (6/10) 6. Oceanside (6/10) 7. Emotion Ollie (6/10) 8. Dream In Colours (6/10) 9. You Lift Me Up (5/10) 10. Because of You (5/10) 11. Mon étoile (5/10) 12. HOME (5/10) 13. Rollercoaster (5/10) 14. The Nail (4/10) Top 5 rating: 7.6/10 Overall rating: 6.07/10 Because of You is quite meh. I fear Ça m'ennuie pas is overrated. Team Gala Dragot! The Starlings should've picked Oceanside. January 18, 20232 yr This is actually my jam tbh. Let's be real, Gustaph is all of us in 20-30 years time and here he is delivering the best Belgian entry since Blanche.
January 19, 20232 yr Love this - very UK-esque too so could do well on charts if not in the contest itself
