Following the dissolution of the group, all four Beatles released solo albums in the early 1970s, including Lennon's John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band (1970), McCartney's Ram (1971)(which included the songs Another Day and Uncle Albert) and Harrison's All Things Must Pass (1970). Some of their albums featured contributions by other former Beatles; Starr's Ringo (1973) was the only one to include compositions and performances by all four, albeit on separate songs.

Paul formed Wings in 1971,with his wife Linda and Denny Laine ex Moody Blues, and no doubt he had the most commercial success of the 4, with songs like Mull of Kintyre, Maybe I’m amazed, Silly love songs. However he did strike a controversial note in getting two songs banned by the BBC, Give Ireland back to the Irish and Hi Hi Hi. He did the bond theme for Live and let die, and the very successful album Band on the run. Although after the break up of Wings his success has been less profound. He is still the richest musician in the UK.

John hooked up with Yoko and he did his “Bed-in†for peace. His early songs included Cold turkey, Happy Christmas war is over and Imagine. George even played with him at a Unicef benefit concert. Other songs included Mind games, Whatever gets you through the night and Stand by me. His final album in 1980 Double fantasy included songs like Woman, Beautiful boy and Watching the wheels. On December 1980 the 8th , it all ended however.

George became friends with the likes of Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan and released songs like If not for you and My sweet lord. He did the concert for Bangladesh in 1971 with loads of stars including Ringo. Other hits included Give me love in ‘73.He founded Handmade films in 1978 and funded films like Life of Brian, The long good Friday Time Bandits and Mona Lisa. In the late 80’s he formed the Travelling Wilburys with Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne.

Ringo better known for the voice of Thomas the tank engine rather than his music. He had a few hits in the early ‘70’s like Photograph and Back of boogaloo.

well all but ringo had their moments, i think only george though maintained any credibility. maccas works post 'band on the run' was dire, and john had the 'disease'... middle aged blandness! when he was killed.

George Harrison only maintained some credibility because most of his material started flopping (1974-1987 with a handful of exceptions - Crackerbox Palace, Blow Away & All Those Years Ago), so it was not heard on the radio unlike Macca's post Band On The Run material.

Examples:

Ding Dong (1974)

Faster (1979)

Shanghai Surprise (1985).

Yes it is the title track of that Madonna/Sean Penn Turkey!
