Things are heating up now as album track Matilda drops out in 4th place. Inspired by the Roald Dahl book of the same name, Matilda is a song about somebody whose family didn't treat them well, issuing a reminder that home is not necessarily a place but a state of mind. The track has been one of the most popular from the album, just missing out on Harry's top 3 songs in the UK but eventually peaking at #37.

Late Night Talking finishes third in the rate and is the first song with an average of above 9. The song, which was first premiered during Harry's Coachella set, is rumoured to be about Olivia Wilde, his now-ex girlfriend. The song quickly became the second most popular song on streaming services and was released as the second Harry's House single, having peaked at #2 in the UK. It's just been certified platinum too!

Perhaps one of the biggest surprises of the rate for me is seeing how high this has managed to get! No complaints though, Daydreaming is one of the breeziest songs on the album. It samples “Ain’t We Funkin Now" by The Brothers Johnson and features John Mayer playing electric guitar! The track was (rudely) left off the Love on Tour setlist at first but was added to the recent US leg dates, so hopefully it's still on there next summer when I see him!

1 9.97 As It Was

Of course, it wasn't going to be anything else! With only one score below 9, As It Was is clearly *the* defining song of 2022. Harry described the song as being about "metamorphosis, embracing change and former self, perspective shift and all that kind of stuff." The only song released in advance of the album, As It Was debuted at #1 in the UK and US with ease, holding the top spot for a total of 10 and 15 weeks there respectively.

Thank you for hosting this, Joseph!

No surprises about As It Was winning but it thoroughly deserves to. It was love at first listen for me & is my favourite song by Harry to date.

Daydreaming in 2nd! :o I didn’t see that one coming but it’s certainly a highlight of the album for me, within my personal Top 5!
