Finally voting in my own poll ~ have been intrigued to see the results as I didn't think any of these stuck out as an overwhelmingly obvious winner (and 45 votes is far more than I was expecting! still a few more days to get more in)

1 'Too Many Nights' - I'm not surprised this didn't do too well in the poll but I think the production on this song is absolutely fantastic, Don fits it perfectly too (idk why he's billed as a feature when Future gets a co-lead credit for like a 15 second outro lmao), the only thing holding it back from an even higher score is that it lacks a super memorable hook (although in a way that's kind of a good thing? as it is meant to be a Metro Boomin song so makes sense that the highlight of the song is Metro's production lol) 9/10

2 'You're On Your Own, Kid' - one of my favourites from Midnights, great songwriting, feels like a poppier iteration of a folklore/evermore track which I wish the rest of the album had been more like, happy it has been allowed to chart rather than locked out by 'Lavender Haze' 9/10

3 'People' - I think this might grow on me even more but a stronger first impression than I get with a lot of afrobeats hits, I think it's those backing vocals, similar to Asake's stuff which feels very refreshing in the genre (though I have liked most afrobeats hits anyway). Lyrically hard hitting too 8/10

4 'snowfall' - I wish this was longer and I may be mildly overrating what is a pretty standard ambient/chillout song just because it's so different to see one in the chart but issa vibe 8/10

5 'Sure Thing' - first time hearing this, I was expecting much worse from what I have read others saying about it - no it's not as good as 'Adorn' but I wouldn't call this boring, has a pretty sticky hook. I don't love his almost country twang accent during the verses (he hasn't always sounded like that has he?!) but good song overall 7.5/10

6 'Ready To Fly' - frustrating song as I really like the main vocal part of the song but I just don't care at all for either of the drops, they kill the momentum for me 6.5/10

7 'Players' - pretty fun, a little too reliant on the sample but it's better than certain other sample based female pop rap hits *cough* 'Big Energy' *cough* 'Super Freaky Girl'. Feel like I might like the Jersey club remix more but I'll base this off the original. PS 'No More Parties' deserved to blow up as much as this has, that was great, her other material has been very spotty but this is one of her better songs too 6/10

8 'METAMORPHOSIS' - decent but disappointing considering how much I loved the first phonk hit. This has the same energy in the vocal sample but I don't think it meshes nearly as well with the more low energy instrumental, also some slightly jarring volume shifts 6/10

9 'Bel Mercy' - I can see why people find this annoying but I'm used to the sample from the Kanye song, he used it a lot better though. Production is ok. Might be a grower but for now it's just decent 6/10

10 'Bejeweled' - Taylor nearly being both first and last! Unfortunately I've enjoyed this song less each time I've heard it so far, I just find it sounds rather disjointed? Like she can't just pick a melody and stick to it, and she crams too many syllables into the hook. Not that there's anything wrong with that but for what is a pretty basic pop song sonically it could do with sounding more coherent idk. Love the video though 4/10

Voted for my top 5 (I'm gonna be fairly liberal with what I consider vote worthy x)

Looking at today's top 100 entries I feel like week 2 of this is going to be a little less competitive  (still possibly a 2 horse race for the win though).
Voted for 'Players' and 'Bel Mercy' which... don't appear to be popular choices but each to their own :kink:

Will be putting up week 2 of this in a few hours so last call for any more votes!

(I might leave the next round up a bit shorter and move this to Saturday for future weeks)
