December 24, 200618 yr Author Only 50 for 'Don't Forget About Us'!? I don't understand that as it was a #1 - and it was released so long ago. These Billboard year-end charts go from October-October (or something like that) so I thought 'Forget' would be much, much higher. Anyway, appearing on all 4 charts is pretty good. Especially having the #11 best-selling album.

These Billboard year-end charts go from October-October (or something like that) so I thought 'Forget' would be much, much higher. Anyway, appearing on all 4 charts is pretty good. December 27, 200618 yr I think it's BRILLIANT that she has no11 with TEOM even though it was released early 2005 :o
December 28, 200618 yr I think it's BRILLIANT that she has no11 with TEOM even though it was released early 2005 :o Exactly. ^_^ Does anyone know how much Mimi actually sold in 2006? I know towards the end of 2005 it was selling massively and it was fighting Fiddy for the #1 US album of the year. Which of course she won. :funky: But I don't remember it selling that amazingly in 2006? Of course we only had the terrible Say Somethin' to carry on momentum. :arrr:
December 29, 200618 yr  I think it sold about... 6.5 million in 2005 ? I also think it's sold 10 million all together, but I don't think it sold over 3 million in 2006 :o?
December 29, 200618 yr Well she sold pretty well around the Grammy awards, so I'd guess at around .5/.75 of a million
December 30, 200618 yr It might have sold over 3m in 2006, I mean some other countries didn't get the singles when we got them, plus Mimi was still in the UK Top40 at Christmas last year, so she would have got some sales off that and of course as Dan said, Mimi didn't leave the charts until like June 2006 or something, so it could be possible. :D
December 30, 200618 yr Yeah I also realised that she would have had all of her platinum edition sales count towards her 2006 Billboard Chart, because it was released the same week as Some Hearts by Carrie Underwood which was released on the first week of the Billboard Year, so I reckon that she could have sold about 1.5/1.75 in the US alone, which is feasable.
January 2, 200718 yr Yeah was an interesting week, Especially seeing as both Mariah and Carrie outsold Madonna over the year, despite Madonna making #1.
January 2, 200718 yr Oh was she #1 that week? Good for her. It was only the re-release though, and Mimi was a 2 week #1 in the US so I think Mariah will be pleased. Plus Carrie has sold shed loads so I doubt she'll care either. ^_^ Although I suppose you always want a #1...
January 2, 200718 yr Author ^_^ Although I suppose you always want a #1... She's had enough of them. It would have been nice for it to have made #1 again though. We had to settle for it only being the year's best-seller and producing two #1 singles. Edited January 2, 200718 yr by Tim
January 2, 200718 yr I was talking about Carrie Underwood. :P But then again if the re-release of Mimi was #1, it would just count as 1 album? So I doubt I would be that bothered about it, it's just like your album climbing back up.
January 2, 200718 yr Author But then again if the re-release of Mimi was #1, it would just count as 1 album? So I doubt I would be that bothered about it, it's just like your album climbing back up. Yeah - it counted as a climber rather than a new entry. So the record books will forever say just 'Emancipation Of Mimi' - #1 I thought the original release was number 1 for 2 weeks? I've a horrible feeling it was knocked off after a week by Rob Thomas
January 2, 200718 yr Oh! So the platinum was definatly number 1? I just thought it brought it back up into the top 5 ?
January 2, 200718 yr Author Oh! So the platinum was definatly number 1? I just thought it brought it back up into the top 5 ? Sorry I meant the original version was knocked off by Rob Thomas. I don't know where the platinum peaked - pretty sure it got to 3 or 4.
