I know it's sacrilegious to even consider this question but hear me out x

When out and about today I flung all of the S Club songs available on Spotify onto a playlist and shuffled it. I heard the entire thing, and it was such a fun ride. Their discography is packed full of quality, but nobody has a 100% hit rate, especially with 4 albums + b-sides.

So... what is the WORST S Club song? Or simply, the least good? :o

For me, a contender would have to be The Greatest. A forgettable song that comes after a very strong run of tracks on Seeing Double, with barely a hook and an extremely wordy chorus. It's not bad, just very far from an S Club classic and the tail end of Seeing Double has much stronger downtempos (Let Me Sleep notably but In Too Deep is also better).

Also If It's Love, the b-side to Natural, is just entirely forgettable to me.

A couple of the covers (Lately and The Long & Winding Road) are inessential to me too, particularly the latter. The former being on streaming but Stand By You and Spiritual Love remains very bothersome x

"The Greatest" and "In Too Deep" off Seeing Double are probably my least favourite as well. How they made it on the album and neither "Rain" or "Discotek" did is beyond me.

I think the double whammy of The Greatest followed by In Too Deep doesn't help either of them - the album gets very downtempo at the end and neither are as good as the bops that came before (or even midtempo Secret Love), nor as good as Let Me Sleep which comes right after and immediately overshadows. I think having just In Too Deep would've been better, I think it's a nice song and good for Jon to have his moment on the album (albeit still one of the least essential S Club songs). Fully agree that both Rain and Discotek would've made much better album tracks!!

Everybody Get Pumped is another I can take or leave, I enjoy it when it comes on but if I were to rank every S Club song, that'd be quite far down my list. It's a bit too repetitive...!
