The Heavy Music Awards are back and the nominations are being revealed tomorrow. This year's ceremony is on 26th May and is the biggest yet by quite a way... it's being held at Wembley Arena and livestreamed for the first time!

Nova Twins to sweep please, huge breath of fresh air in the scene.

 

I'm pleased that I know of/listen to a good amount of this list, nice nod for Bloodywood too, that's a great little gem even beyond 'Aaj'.

Good to see Witch Fever, Heriot, Delilah Bon and Lake Malice getting some long overdue attention but the omission of either Saint Agnes, Knife Bride or Lambrini Girls is notable

Did not know Sleep Token were British! (I also have never listened to their music oops but I'm aware of them being a generally pretty buzzy band worldwide for the genre)

 

There's not many artists here that I am familiar with / care about too much but cool to see some nods for Holding Absence, Polyphia and Zeal & Ardor (even if only for artwork for the latter lol).

 

Charlotte Sands though...? The only song I have heard from her ('Dress') is decidedly nowhere close to 'heavy music'. Is her other music very different to that?
