January 10Jan 10 Author I'm pretty sure that I knew 'Fastlove' and 'Men In Black' before 'Forget Me Nots' but got to it eventually and it's fab. 'Forgot About Dre' is a good tune as well, I've just voted in the #7s rate and it was one of many painful cuts   a memorable bassline as ever from Dr. Dre. Same here I knew 'Fastlove' and 'Men In Black' before 'Forget Me Nots'. Cheers Jade for commenting,:) Much appreciated

This is a good song from Gym Class Heroes and the sample of 'Breakfast In America' works well. This would come 55th in my Hip-Hop Songs of the 2000s which I did back in 2015. First heard this at the end of 2010. At the time I didn't think that this would do much in the charts but it was a pleasant surprise to see how well it did.

This would go on and peak at #10 in the UK, Can't say that I remember this particularly well from Craig David, I was more familiar with his other singles from his second album 'What's Your Flava' and his collaboration with Sting 'Rise and Fall'. Labrinth also had uncredited vocals in Tinie Tempah's debut single 'Pass Out'. This would go on and peak at #18 in the UK. Out of the four Tinie Tempah/Labrinth collaboration this is probably the third of the four songs that I would listen to the most. This was even included as background music on Match of the Day 2 in their highlights of Saturday's matches.

This would go on and peak at #1 in the UK where it would remain for three weeks, in the US this would peak at #2 in the Billboard Hot 100. It was porbably more in the 2010s where my love for this song really grew, it has also given me that motivation when things have been tough. This was covered in 2011 by Mann which featured Snoop Dogg & Iyaz which peaked at #28 in the UK, this was also remixed in 2016 by Nevada which contained vocals from Mark Morrison and featured Fetty Wap, that version would peak at #14 in the UK.2005- Mariah Carey ft Jermaine Dupri & Fatman Scoop- It's Like That'It's Like That' was the lead single from Mariah Carey's tenth studio album 'The Emancipation of Mimi' this would feature Jermaine Dupri and Fatman Scoop who sadly passed away last year. This would go on and peak at #10 in the UK, it would McLean's only UK Top 40 hit. This is one that I rememeber from it being on Now That's What I Call Music 75 sandwiched between Young Money/Lloyd's 'BedRock and Rihanna's 'Russian Roulette'. This is all right from him.2012- B.O.B- So Good'So Good' was the first UK single from B.O.B's scond studio album 'Strange Clouds'. This would go on and peak at #7 in the UK which would be his last UK Top 10 to date, in the US this would peak at #11 in the Billboard Hot 100. This for me is one of the lesser listened to songs for me from B.O.B. It's no 'Airplanes' or 'Nothin' on You'.
May 8May 8 Author This Week:1996- Whitney Houston & CeCe Winans- Count On MeFrom the movie "Waiting To Exhale":'Count On Me' was from the soundtrack album of the film 'Waiting to Exhale'. This would go on and peak at #6 in the UK, in the US this would peak at #23 in the Billboard Hot 100. The music video seems to be a ode to Sex In The City. Ten years later this would included in an mash-up by one 99 Souls with 'The Girl Is Mine' which included 'Girl' and Brandy & Monica's 'The Boy Is Mine' that version would peak at #5 in the UK2014- Jhene Aiko- The WorstSampled:'The Worst' was the second single from Jhene Aiko's debut EP 'Sail Out'. This would sample Jay-Z's 2003 single 'Excuse Me Miss'. This would go on and peak at #43 in the Billboard Hot 100, this what I could find didn't chart in the Top 100 in the UK. If this got an revival thanks to the power of TikTok and become popular, I would definitely welcome this. This is one fine song from Jhene Aiko, this is an recent discovery that I managed to find when doing this series.
May 15May 15 Author This Week:1985- Aretha Franklin- Freeway of Love'Freeway of Love' was the lead single from Aretha Franklin's thirtieth studio album 'Who's Zoomin' Who?'. This would go on and peak at #3 in the Billboard Hot 100. In the UK this did get an release but it peaked at an lowly #51.1991- Whitney Houston- Miracle'Miracle' was the third single from Whitney Houston's third studio album 'I'm Your Baby Tonight'. This would go on and peak at #9 in the Billboard Hot 100, from what I could find I don't think this got an official release in the UK. This is one that I'm really not that familiar with from Whitney but it's all right from her, controversial opinion but this is more tolerable than her cover of 'I Will Always Love You', sorry to anyone that is a fan of that song. 2007- Jamie T- Sheila'Sheila' was the debut single from Jamie T's debut album 'Panic Prevention'. Originally this was released in July 2006 which it would peak at #22 in the UK at the time, this got an re-release ten months later thanks to the success of 'Calm Down Dearest'. This time it would outpeak its original peak by peaking at #15 in the UK, can't say that this is one that I have heard for a while to be honest with you. This particular music video features the late actor Bob Hoskins lip synching to the lyrics.
May 22May 22 Author This Week:1992- CeCe Peniston- Keep On Walkin'Rerecorded Version: 'Keep On Walkin' was the third single from CeCe Peniston's debut album 'Finally'. This would go on and peak at #10 in the UK, in the US this would peak at #15 in the Billboard Hot 100. Nineteen years later CeCe would re-recorded this with a different version called 'Keep On Flossing' in a duet with a rapper called L.C., can't say that I'm famailar with the works that L.C. has done. For 'Keep On Walkin' it's no 'Finally' from CeCe, but this is an all right song from CeCe. 1994- Toni Braxton- You Mean The World To Me'You Mean The World To Me' was the fourth single from Toni Braxton's self-titled debut album. This would go on and peak at #7 in the Billboard Hot 100, in the UK this would peak at #30 where it would remain in the Top 40 for three weeks. This is one that I have recently discovered since I started doing this series. 2003- Bone Thugs-N-Harmony ft Phil Collins- HomeSampled:'Home' was the third single from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's fifth studio album 'Thug World Order'. This was one unlikely collaboration which featured Phil Collins it would sample his 1985 song 'Take Me Home'. This would go on and peak at #19 in the UK, this didn't chart in the Billboard Hot 100. This is probably one of the most bizarre collaborations in music history.
