December 30, 200618 yr Lovely. If you would like to just post the one topic instead of three it would be much appreciated. Thank you.
December 30, 200618 yr Kelly you should respect your elders  Grandma BJ is CLEARLY old and doesn't get this "posting malarky" hence the mistake(z) :o :( Well we knew it was coming. I'd have rathered he spend life in jail. A worse punishment than death imo. His conviction was a bit of a farce after his mockery of a trial -_-
December 30, 200618 yr from Ananova: The former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has been executed. He was hanged just before 3am British time and Iraqi officials said the execution had been filmed. They added that Saddam put up no resistance on his way to the gallows, merely asking for his copy of the Koran to be passed on to someone. On the gallows, in more defiant mood, Saddam refused to wear a hood and shouted: "God is great." Early reports suggested that Saddam's half-brother Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti and former judge Awad al-Bander were also hanged, but this was later denied by the officials. US president George Bush welcomed the punishment meted out to Saddam, while Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett, speaking on behalf of the Government, welcomed the fact Saddam had been "held to account". Mrs Beckett said: "I welcome the fact that Saddam Hussein has been tried by an Iraqi court for at least some of the appalling crimes he committed against the Iraqi people. He has now been held to account." She added that the Government "does not support the use of the death penalty, in Iraq or anywhere else" but added that "we respect the decision" of the Iraqi authorities. A Downing Street spokeswoman said the statement from Mrs Beckett spoke for the whole government. Saddam went to the gallows following a lengthy trial that began on October 19 last year. Last month an Iraqi court sentenced the 69-year-old to death over the killings of 148 Shias from the Iraqi village of Dujail in the 1980s.
December 30, 200618 yr 35 killed in a car bomb already within a couple of hours with plenty more to come, Iraq is going to absolutely explode into civil war in the next few weeks and more and more troops of ours and the yanks will be coming home in bodybags all so that Bush can have a short term boost at home  They have also succeeded in turning Hussein into a martyr and an arab hero who "sacrificed his life for the fight against the great satan" in the same way as christians think Jesus sacrificed his life for christians, no matter how this is dressed it is going to be seen in the arab world as an American killing Bush might gain 2 or 3 points in the presidential approval rate on Rasmussen but thousands will lose their lives for that  Edited December 30, 200618 yr by Kimi Raikkonen
December 30, 200618 yr The moral of the story is don't cut a deal with America. Saddam was their ally. They armed him and supported him. Iraq is a tribal country and without a strong leader soon degenerates into civil war. If Iraq ever becomes a democracy, as America says it wants , a fundamentalist government will be elected and it'll turn into another Iran. Bush doesn't want this. Amercia wants chaos in the middle east. Not unity. If they lose a few men they don't give a tinkers cuss. It's all part of a much bigger plan. Saddam, Iraq and the soldiers fighting there are merely pawns in a much bigger game. People think America is losing the war but it's all going to plan :(

December 30, 200618 yr because they gas us don't they  Bush and Blair deliberately murdered 25,000 Iraqi's so what is the difference between them murdering Iraqis and Saddam Hussein murdering Iraqis ? Shock And Awe was designed to attack the civillian population of Iraq, if using B52's to drop cluster bombs onto apartment buildings is not murder I sure would like to know what is

December 30, 200618 yr Been watching the coverage on Sky News and starting to feel a little sorry for him, seeing masked gangsters killing him in a pokey dark room is not dignified surroundings, whatever anyone's feelings about him Hussein was a world leader and head of state and a military man so seeing him being bumped off in that dark dirty little room seemed a bit unjust, that sort of place is where rapists and drug dealers are bumped off not world heads of state. If he was going to be executed it would have been better to be a killing by the Iraqi military via firing squad Edited December 30, 200618 yr by Kimi Raikkonen
