whoever said she wont be around in 20 years, she's been making music since 1991, so thats 16 years from then until now in itself. I dont think anyone is denying the cultural impact that Madonna has had, but saying Shakira hasnt had any, and that she's got nothing more than the bigegst single this year is false, I mean shes one of the bigegst latin artists in history and broken down many boundaries in language, politics and music, she is the latin Madonna. so we shouldn't be against each other, we should unite :cheer:

 

The facts are that Shakira is one of the biggest artists of the last few years, 2 of the biggest songs ever in La Tortura & Hips Don't Lie, the Fixation era has spawned sales of almost 10 million units, the spanish section becomming the fastest selling spanish album in history. Im not trying to continue an argument, or pit artists against each other, im just stating facts.

Yes, if that chart had been accurately compiled Kobukuro would easily qualify. Ken Hirai and Koda Kumi would be hovering around the 40 mark, maybe in, maybe just ouitside.
