Well the album that I bought, that finished 25th out of the 25 new studio albums I purchased in 2006 (see my thread here) was Lily Allen's Alright Still.

 

But hey, it made the Rolling Stone magazine's Top10 Albums of the Year; The UK Music Writers Top10 Albums of the Year & was ranked #1 by BBC National Radio (1,2 & 6) DJ's as Album of the Year, so what do I know.

 

I've played it again this morning, and I still think it has only 4 good tracks on it and is a musically poor sister to the Streets first two albums "Original Pirate Material" & "A Grand Don't Come For Free".

 

Poor follow ups: For me, there has not been one

Beyonce's album was my biggest dissapointment, awful

Hmmmm I would say P!nk is my favourite album this year with 'I'm Not Dead'. I really thought 'Try This' was an awful record - didn't like any f it so I was pleased to see this was a superb return to form with hardly a bad track on it.

 

Disappointing followup? Hmmmmm I would have to say Scissor Sisters to be fair - I just couldn't get into this album the magic was lost from their debut for me by the time Ta-Dah came out.

 

I think many an album this year has been vile - Hilton. Beyonce, Justin just because they sing it :puke: But the upmost worst I've actually purchased has to be The Killers 'Sam's Town'. :zzz:

maybe you cant really rate the first with the others as that was usual r&b laface stuff

I'm a very careful buyer, so I've not been disappointed with anything that I've bought this year....

 

The material that I heard from Lily Allen and Paris Hilton's albums would put them up as contenders though, what I heard was pretty awful.... I felt that the All Saints album was rather c**p as well (sorry Kelly...), not much of a comeback... Westlife will always be sh!t no matter what.... :lol:

Try this is quite underrated imo. It's alot more rockier. Misunderstood is still her best but I'm not dead is very close ^_^

 

Pink is probebly the only current female pop star who I have time for. :lol:
