Ben Foster has announced his retirement from professional football after making 12 appearances for Wrexham since March.

 

The 40-year-old conceded five goals on Saturday in Wrexham's 5-5 draw with Swindon.

 

Foster said: “The honest truth is that my performances this season haven’t reached the level I demand of myself and I feel that now is the right time to retire.

Strange timing, wouldn’t say any of the goals were his fault particularly!
