Posted August 8, 20231 yr Anne-Marie's Official Top 20 biggest songs on the Official Chart By George Griffiths | 27 July 2023 Anne-Marie Nicholson has built a pop persona based upon personability and relatability. Originally coming up as a vocalist in Rudimental's touring band, she went on to carve her own lane in the competitive post-streaming landscape. She's collaborated with the likes of David Guetta and Coi Leray (Baby Don't Hurt Me), KSI and Digital Farm Animals (Don't Play Games) and pop sirens Little Mix (Kiss My (Uh Oh)), without ever losing her sense of self. Now, as Anne-Marie's third album UNHEALTHY competes with Travis Scott's UTOPIA for the UK's Official Number 1 album this week, we're revealing her Top 20 biggest-ever singles on the Official Chart, for the first time ever. 5. Alarm Released: 2016 Official Singles Chart peak: Number 16 Total UK chart units: 1.1 million A self-assured launch single for Anne-Marie's solo career after a few years touring with Rudimental, Alarm remains a juddering synth-anthem about losing someone the way you got them in the first place. Her first Top 20 single, it's since achieved over 98 million streams in the UK. 4. Ciao Adios Released: 2017 Official Singles Chart peak: Number 9 Total UK chart units: 1.3 million About as 2017-core you can get as a pop single, the trop-pop-adjacent Ciao Adios was the second single released from Anne-Marie's debut album Speak Your Mind, and became her first solo Top 10 single to boot. Its UK streams max out at 119 million to date. Ciao adios, hun! 3. Friends (with Marshmello) Released: 2018 Official Singles Chart peak: Number 4 Total UK chart units: 1.7 million Friends - a link-up with American DJ Marshmello - actually forms part of a fascinating pop story. The story goes that Anne-Marie was all ready to feature on Zedd's pitch-perfect single The Middle (after both Camila Cabello and Demi Lovato had also recorded demos), before pulling out at the last minute due to the release of Friends taking precedence. This meant Zedd had to scramble to find a new vocalist, before eventually settling on relative-unknown Maren Morris. A Number 4 hit in the UK, Friends also proved to be Anne-Marie's breakout single in the US, reaching Number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. 2. 2002 Released: 2018 Official Singles Chart peak: Number 3 Total UK chart units: 2.3 million A brilliant mash-up of all kinds of nostalgic pop hits like Britney Spears's ...Baby One More Time and *NSYNC's Bye Bye Bye, 2002 proved to be the biggest hit from Speak Your Mind, reaching a career-best solo peak of Number 3 on the Official Singles Chart in 2018. It may technically come in second place on combined chart units, but it's actually Anne-Marie's most-streamed song ever, with over 274 million UK streams to its name. Just don't tell her that, technically, Jay-Z's 99 Problems shouldn't be referenced here, since it technically wasn't released until 2003... 1. Rockabye (with Clean Bandit and Sean Paul) Released: 2016 Official Singles Chart peak: Number 1 Total UK chart units: 2.4 million What better way to bookend a breakout year than the Christmas Number 1? Although Anne-Marie wasn't the first choice for the featured singer on Rockabye (Clean Bandit pushed for the song's original writer, Ina Wroldsen), she took her chance and run with it. It's her impassioned performance that sticks the entire song together, before Sean Paul blasts the doors off. Rockabye was one of the most surprising (and original) Official Christmas Number 1s in recent memory, and is Anne-Marie's biggest song on the Official Chart, scooping 2.4 million UK chart units, over 500,000 downloads and 227 million UK streams. Anne-Marie's Official Top 20 biggest singles 1 Rockabye (with Clean Bandit & Sean Paul) 2 2002 3 Friends (with Marshmello) 4 Ciao Adios 5 Alarm 6 Rewrite the Stars (with James Arthur) 7 Don't Play (with KSI & Digital Farm Animals) 8 Psycho (with Aitch) 9 Kiss My Uh-Oh (with Little Mix) 10 Our Song (with Niall Horan) 11 Don't Leave Me Alone (with David Guetta) 12 f*** I'm Lonely (with Lauv) 13 Perfect to Me 14 Come Over (with Rudimental) 15 Birthday 16 Then 17 Rumour Mill (with Rudimental) 18 Way Too Long (with Nathan Dawe) 19 Either Way (with Snakehips) 20 Baby Don't Hurt Me (with David Guetta) https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/a...official-chart/
August 8, 20231 yr What an absolutely stellar top 5  it doesn't usually happen with these things but that top 5 are actually my favourite 5 Anne-Marie songs. I like some of the others too but they're not on a patch on those 5. I know she's quite divisive as a popstar, particularly on Buzzjack, but she's definitely up there as one of my favourite female singers of the last 10 years.
August 8, 20231 yr Rewrite the Stars has no business being in that top 10 but it's otherwise REALLY strong. Then is surprisingly high up for a non-single!
August 8, 20231 yr Rewrite the Stars has no business being in that top 10 but it's otherwise REALLY strong. Then is surprisingly high up for a non-single! I'm sure 'Then' was a single?
August 8, 20231 yr I'm sure 'Then' was a single? It was a promo single between Heavy and FRIENDS but didn't get a single push!
August 8, 20231 yr 'Don't Play' deserves to be no.1 - to be honest thought it be higher than 7. Obviously 'Rockabye' great too but really sad that Anne Marie took Ina Wrolsden's place on it  Edited August 8, 20231 yr by Smint
August 8, 20231 yr That top 10 :cheeseblock: Then is one of her best songs as well, glad (but a little surprised) that made the top 20 Interesting that they've included Rockabye here when they refuse to officially credit her for it :kink: Edited August 8, 20231 yr by Lunar
