One of the most perplexing for me 'smashes out of nowhere' in a while. Listened to it now many x simply trying to get it & hear what people hear/connect with. I just do NOT lol. Even in the most objective way regardless of whether I like it or not. Only highlight is the opening w/ the scratchy record of Dionne singing.

 

Flat, monotonous and instantly forgettable once it starts to descend down the charts.

 

Vampire was NOT instant but felt & knew it was something special out of the gate. You had/have to be patient with it lol. Has many layers. But then it HITS hard. Keeps elevating. Dua's Dance The Night (not at all her best) but was similar.
