Posted January 1, 200718 yr What does everyone think he will do this year? It was only a few months ago that he said he would be releasing 2 albums this year, Swing and an album of new material, however in the interview with the Big Issue, he said he needs to take a long break from the UK. Personally although I would love a new album, I think he needs a long break. He has been working non stop for a long time without a long break. If he takes time off, the public will miss him. Anticipation = success imo, which is why all big acts take 2-3 years off between each album. We have the She's Madonna video/single to look forward to. I think he really should consider appearing on Parky or something just to perform the song and give an interview. I have a feeling after the TT docementary, alot of the Uk public think Rob feels he is too good for them. I watched part of the 50 Celeb storys of 2006 last night and they showed Rob. They were saying that people are getting sick of him and are'nt really interested anymore. Well, this although may be a reason for some, if you ask me it's the fact that Rudebox (the song) has alianated a huge chunk of his fanbace and has put them off and also him not promoting the album whatosever did not help matters. If it had've been IC that was underperforming then they would have a point. -_- What does everyone else think?
January 1, 200718 yr In fairness to Robbie I think he gets bored easily hence the number of albums he keeps putting out - going from one thing to another. He definately needs to take a break & maybe do the Swing album towards the end of the year. What people think of him is up to them , you cant please everyone - . In my opinion people either like him or dont & a lot of the dislike is down to jealousy. If Robbie takes a break away from the UK who will they have a go at next. He fills up a lot of column inches for them in newspapers.

True, he does get bored and sometimes it annoys me when he releases a new album and then slags off her previous one -_- But he needs a break. I don't think he needs to release Swing although it would most definatly sell hugely cause it would please the masses, he has been there and done that and so many people have done it since so I don't know. Sadly it seems to be part of his contract <_< Speaking of which surely should be up soon?
January 1, 200718 yr Its hard to know what exactly his contract stipulates - its something that was never really made clear but I presume that he officially would have been under contract to release an album in 2007. Would Rudebox be considered an official album . If I remember with the first swing album he released it was not considered a full album by the record company as they did not want him to do a swing album at all at that time. What do you think - any idea. All I know at the moment is that if Robbie was not around the music scene would be very boring.

Not sure, but "Swing When You're Winning" was not part of the £80 million contract from 2002 though. It was a 6 album deal as far as I know and Rob has said it includes another Swing so he has already done 5 album since 2002 and sold nearly 25 million with those 5 alone, so one more but who knows
January 1, 200718 yr I think the main thing that Robbie should try to do is not to wear his heart on his sleeve so much - while it is endearing to those of us who like him the Press use it to their advantage to twist his words to suit themselves & write what they want about him. If you look at most of the articles that were written about him in 2006 , most of them were gathered from interviews that he had done & they took the interviews & broke them into little pieces that they then used as articles for their newpapers.
January 1, 200718 yr I'm sorry to say it, but I also think he needs a nice long break from everything. At least for a year or so... As you said Scotty, anticipation=success and I think no one could ever forget about him. He'll always find a way to surprise us with something new. For a singer, it must get boring to sing the same old songs over and over again, every night. It reflects on his face, you all saw how tired he is! (for example, in that MTV interview or at the gig in Rio...) I think it would be very selfish to wish he stays and continues performing and recording. He's only a human and needs a rest after so much hard work!
January 1, 200718 yr And we'll just need to talk about the weather and swap recipes for a couple of years. What????? we already do? :o
January 1, 200718 yr Robbieca Well said - I hope he does take a long break - he deserves it Thanks ^_^
January 1, 200718 yr He needs to take a break, but not toooooooo long    I agree....but I'm sure he won't last too long without us... ;)
January 1, 200718 yr I have an great idea. To give Robbie a decent break why dont we come up with a few songs that we could release ourselves. ( I cant sing but that's beside the point ) I am a great trier. Any ideas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - That will keep us busy for a while & keep Robbie amused. We could even set up our own Website that he could visit & if the papers write any S**T about us we can kick their heads in. Edited January 1, 200718 yr by TessaT

January 1, 200718 yr Dazza can write songs. Haven't seen him on here for ages though. :( I want some more Dazza songs
January 1, 200718 yr Seriously though I dont care what Robbie does this year as long as dosen't get totally P****D off & walk away & hearing what he has to say on his site recently I dont think that is going to happen. It looks like he will be busy writing & creating new songs. I am just watching the Top 100 Nation albums at the moment on VH1 ( repeat as you know from November ) & Guy Chambers was falling over in his good comments about Robbie - also Bono & some more , so I think I should take more notice of what I hear than from what I read - at least hearing it ,you can believe it but the written word from newspapers - well forget it.
