Then, there’s “Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” which might be the grandest swing The Rolling Stones have taken since the turn of the millennium. A towering, gospel-influenced tune topping out at over seven minutes in length and featuring both Stevie Wonder and Lady Gaga, the penultimate track is well-written, well-performed, and thoroughly epic.

This didn't debut on UK singles chart even with the physicals (apparently) added. :(

 

Interesting to see if the album release helps enough this week, wouldn't count on that.

Debuted at #2 on the UK Singles Sales chart. Wonder how far it was from reaching the top 100.

It would've been getting next to no streams in comparison. Should've timed it for the debut week :(

542k streams on Spotify on Friday.

The album has sold 55k so far in the UK (according to the mids thread). Very good!!!

 

This also appears at #100 in the singles chart. Will obviously drop out but glad its streams are at least half decent.

The album sold 72k in the UK, great numbers!

Radio 2 didn't playlist this in the end, instead they chose Mess It Up. It IS more radio friendly, but I think the edit of this would've been nice chill and bluesy track to play as well. Oh well...

10 million streams on Spotify (original and edit combined). Not a lot but I can see this being stable for a long, long time.

“Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” the Stones’ greatest latter-day gospel-rock rave-up, reaches an emotional peak two minutes and 38 seconds in, when Mick Jagger and Lady Gaga bellow, “I’m not going to hell in some dusty motel/And I’m not going down in the dirt … I’m finally quenching my thirst.” It’s a genuinely moving moment of catharsis, like they’ve survived some dark night of the soul, and it builds from there into soulful jam reminiscent of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” or Sticky Fingers’ “I Got the Blues,” thanks to Stevie Wonder’s funky keyboards and a fiery horn line.
