New music is being teased via their latest Instagram post, with an announcement coming at 11am tomorrow. It doesn’t feel like it’s been over 2 years since ‘Back in Love City’ now!

New album 'Pick-Up Full Of Pink Carnations' is out on January 12th! Lead single 'Heartbreak Kid' is out now. Fairly standard indie rock tune from them this time around, with a little heartland in there too, not a bad thing!

Tracklisting:

1. Sometimes, I Swear

2. Heartbreak Kid

3. Lunar Eclipse

4. Discount De Kooning (Last One Standing)

5. Primitive Man

6. Sunkissed

7. Another Nightmare

8. Love To Walk Away

9. The Dreamer

10. Anonymous in Los Feliz

I like it, not sure R1 will support them this time?

Very unlikely, they haven’t since ‘All My Friends Are Falling in Love’ in 2018, their last major label-released song.

I didn’t realise it was that long ago, but the lack of major label is prob the reason. The evening shows only played the last era and they didn’t make it HR from memory!

The fact that they've been around for well over a decade now probably doesn't help either! There's probably someone I'm missing, but in terms of indie bands that have been around 10+ years and are still supported, I can only think of Arctic Monkeys, The 1975, The Wombats & Bombay Bicycle Club.

'Sometimes I Swear' is a proper earworm, definitely prefer it over 'Heartbreak Kid'!

Radio 1 may not support them anymore, but Radio 2 are now! 'Heartbreak Kid' has been added to their playlist this week.

I definitely prefer the second release, but it's good to see anyway.

Foals! Unless they're binning them off next time too. Hope not, the singles from the last one were great, fitted in on daytime R1 just fine and The Runner is still on all the time even though it's four years old now.

Ah yes! I reckon they've got at least one more album of Radio 1 support to go.

I wonder which of the new songs is the official single, though it's a shame radio don't seem to be on board with them lately.

It seems like they’re too old for Radio 1, too young for Radio 2, and not “cool” enough for 6Music!
