This month's Mojo One Hit Wonder is Male Stripper by Man 2 Man. a number 4 hit on the 13th September 1986. So does anyone know of this record or has it been forgotton by everybody in the world (apart from a few people on youtube and Kieron Tyler on page 31 of this month's mojo where you can read the bio of the group)

only looked at the mag and first tune. the second one might actually be a solo performance by Paul Zone if its 1987 as the other member of the group Miki Zone died on NYE 1986

Great record. I remember Bruno Brooks using it as countdown music for the charts. Possibly the best countdown music ever used. Cracking tune.

bizarre!!!

I worked in a record shop when it came out and remember the huge promo posters they gave us for the single... black posters with big bold fuschia text saying 'MALE STRIPPER AVAILABLE HERE'... I had one on my bedroom wall after for years hehe... remember the racy sleeve, too?!
WOW What a camp song. I have so many of their 12" and even a greatet hits CD. Their best songs for me are "Energy is Eurobeat" and "I Need A Man"

Didn't know that. Perhaps it was big in the clubs in 1986, but wasn't a chart hit until 1987.

I don't remember Bruno using it as the chart backing music, perhaps it was the Tuesday evening rundown.

I think it used to be revealed Tuesday morning until later in the same year, then again on the evening on Bruno's teatime show.

Ohhhh yes...I remember it well!!! I remember laughing at the boys "dancing" to it at the school disco!!!!!

The chart used to be revealed every Tuesday up, then counted down on Sunday.

I'm presuming it was compiled on a monday night.

It wasn't until around September (or October) 1987 that the chart was compiled on a sunday.

It was on his own show that he used this music, not the Sunday chart show. I think it was before the time he did the charts if I recall correctly.
