Doubt it, it will be just like when The Stone Roses and Liam Gallagher got Hottest Records but didn't make a dent on the actual playlist. Probably because of the idea that a specialist audience is much more likely to be interested than a daytime one even though they probably overlap a lot.

I assume Ringo at 83 would become the oldest person to feature on the Radio 1 playlist? I think someone mentioned a while ago that Mavis Staples was the current holder of that title, with her being 79 when 'Nina Cried Power' was playlisted.

I can't think of anyone else that comes close to that!

great to see Radio 1 getting behind The Beatles for the evening show but I suspect it’ll just be that and perhaps a few spot plays throughout the week if they get a good audience reaction, would be surprised if they actually make the daytime playlist.

What age was Paul Mc when he was on the Kanye song a few years back?

The Beatles probably haven’t had much playlisting on R1 considering the station only began in the later Beatles era in 1967, did they playlist the songs they released in the mid 90s?

I'm sure I remember R1 playing them quite a lot, especially 'Free As A Bird', so yes I would have thought so but perhaps someone can confirm.

I would say 1994 was just before they stopped playing older artists and became a new music channel as well!
