Posted January 3, 200718 yr Is this film any good? Its out on DVD next week. I thought it was a horror, but its listed as a comedy by cdwow?
January 3, 200718 yr It's certainly amusing at times, but I wouldn't really call it a 'comedy' as such.... "Severance" uses humour within a Horror construct in more or less the same way as "Shaun of the Dead" did... Very pithy, biting and black, as opposed to the dumbness and 'nudge, nudge' way that many American Horror/Comedys do...
January 3, 200718 yr Is it worth buying? Hell Yeah.... Really good film... Very good acting, scripting, directing.. Believable and sympathetic characters (as opposed to those annoying, vile Frat Boys from "Hostel"...), and unlike "Hostel", it doesn't set out to completely insult people from Eastern Europe...
January 4, 200718 yr I might get this. I loved the humour in Shaun Of The Dead so anything like that is good with me.
May 24, 200718 yr I finally saw Severance and that was 90 minutes well spent. The plot with group of people in the woods attacked by someone was, of course, nothing new and innovative but the flick is fast-moving with well-balanced amount of horror and black humour. A while back I saw another similarly themed British horror film called Wilderness. This time juvenile criminals from youth prison head for a camping trip into abandoned island and...you can probably guess the rest. This is more straight-forward horror with no humour and just like Severance a good film and worth seeing.

And frankly, I'm appalled by the fact that it didn't get a proper cinema release... Nah, we'd rather have our cinemas clogged up with sh!tty Yank Horror remakes and endless Teen horror fare, rather than a bloody good Brit Horror flick.... <_<
June 4, 200718 yr Author This was quite good but not as good as wilderness or some other horrors I have seen.

Best than setting it just in the midwest as there consummers out there with ticketsales too who might be hillbilles
