After crashing into the UK album chart at #2 with comeback album 'The Open Door' in September 2006 and scoring a 4th top 10 hit with 'Call Me WHen You're Sober' - Evanescence are gearing up to open 2007 with the release of their 6th UK single 'Litihum'. The song is the 2nd track lifted from the gold selling album and is chartbound this week due to the download entry before physical release rule. The physical CD is released on Jan 8th.

This thread is all about Litihum so we can track the single's progress in hope that it will give the amazing Evanescence another top 10 hit.

Do you know how much the album has sold in UK since it´s release? Last week it was only #89, but being Christmas week I suppose it must have sold over 10,000. This week it´s up to #59, but I believe sales must have decreased a bit. Will Lithium debut on the charts with downloads alone?

Litihum apparently not in the chart anywhere though it is eligable to chart this week :(

People seem to be too occupied downloading all last years hits!

81 - THE OPEN DOOR - EVANESCENCE

81st biggest album in the UK last year according to Haven - unsure of the sales though I would expect 250,00ish.

Bad time to release something, sales are VERY low -_-

And I havn't seen the video once yet on tv

I have seen the video at least once everytime I've watched music channels recently. TBH I feel it would've flopped even worse had they released it before Christmas like planned - but to leave it this late means it really will bomb. Hopefully the album will climb again this week?

I see the video lots on Kerrang and I also here my dad watching Kerrang and shouting 'ohhh heavy' up the stairs whenever it comes on...

Not a great time to release but it's a better track than a lot of stuff out!

Will it flop? So bad, it seems to be the pattern for american rock non-indie bands they can never have more then 1 sucessful album in UK. Remember Nickelback? Linkin Park? It seems that UK is only impressed with newcomers, and once they release a 2nd album it´s not hot anymore, even if it´s still selling in other places.

heard it for the first time today  and I likey.

might just tempt me to go and get the album :D

I thought The Open Door was #1?

Ahhh it was #1 in the US, sorry forgot there for a minute.

Well I always knew TOD wouldn't be as huge as 'Fallen' in the UK. The Uk are very narrowminded - only when something is 'flavour of the month' do they give a damm. It's only the really big artists like Blobby Williams and $h!tlife who have consistant successful albums.
And the sales in UK are not bad... Considering Shakira had one of the most sucessful singles of year and released her album MANY months before Ev´, and her album has sold only 30k more. I´m thnking this album can sell at least 400,000 at the end of its era.

i really hope it at least gets top 20,

ive got all evanescene singles so far so this will be added to the collection

Same. There's two Cd's and normally I'd buy the one with the most on, but they're different covers so I have to have both haha. I've got all the singles too, and will be getting Lithium on Monday.

I hope they get more publicity for it once it's heard in the radio 1 top 40. It deserves to do really well.

Well Shakira was only hyped up for that one single.

Chavs adored it

The other singles from the album weren't exactly massive.

Shakira's album itself is $h!t I think, not as attrocious as HDL but quite close. :manson:
With some promo it will do good i think, as it is the best song on the album...

It's quite shocking!

Is 'Lithium' even avaliable on I Tunes and the like as it hasn't even made top 75 AT ALL? Disgusting.

The Open Door has climbed 59-46 though and Fallen is @ #77 on the album chart.
