Like Kamala switched on fracking and a million other topics Trump switched to get power on a variety of issues he clearly doesn’t care about abortion or subjects like that it’s all salesman conman stuff. Ultimately a large amount of people will say do I want my tax dollars to go to foreign wars or my own state and that’s why there is a big shift in working class voters going to Trump and college educated type suburban women drifting from the Republican Party. I don’t support the Russian system but I understand that due to their political development democracy hasn’t impacted or played out there the same as the west. It doesn’t mean we can dictate to them how to live their lives, democracy has to come from within.

 

There’s a seperate arguement that Ukraine is a very specific situation and conflict too as said above cities like Odessa and the Crimea are very much in the Russian world historically, culturally and politically even with a specific Ukrainian culture. so this war isn’t a simple as an invasion of a seperate country the way Germany invaded say France in May 1940, it’s so much more complicated than that and I do understand why there was a response from the Russian elites they felt they had to do even if a military campaign wouldn’t be my ideal response to it.
